616.Chapter 616
It was the perfect time to settle both old grudges and new feuds!
If she didn’t take care of Anthony here and now, the petty, vindictive Anthony would surely come after Kingsley, or even those kids who had stumbled upon the dragonbone lotus.
So she made up her mind to handle Anthony in Woteria.
Eliza left the Black Flag camp but didn’t immediately go after Anthony.
She had poisonous bugs arranged by Vexara tracking him, ensuring she knew his every move. With that in place, she wasn‘ t worried.
Instead, she decided to use this rare opportunity to test someone.
Soon, Eliza arrived at the governor’s manor in Woteria.
Nolan was still here, tirelessly managing disaster relief efforts across the region. Eliza wasn’t here to see him. Her purpose was to meet Rafe.
This was the first time Eliza sought him out after learning from their last conversation that he might be Gabriel’s illegitimate
son.
“Sis?” In the pitch–black chamber, Rafe heard the creak of the door and the sound of approaching footsteps.
He seemed to have already guessed who it was.
As Eliza stepped into the dimly lit room, Rafe narrowed his eyes slightly, his gaze fixed on her silhouette against the light. A smirk played on his lips as he greeted her in a tone that carried a hint of amusement.
“Don’t call me that,” Eliza said coldly, her voice sharp and unyielding.
A Black Flag soldier accompanying her lit the candles mounted on the chamber walls.
“Sis, have you finally come to terms with our family ties and decided to claim me as your little brother?”
“I know exactly what you’re trying to do,” Eliza continued, her tone unwavering. “All that ‘Sis‘ nonsense is just your way of tying yourself to me, hoping I’ll protect you. Isn’t that right?”
Rafe remained silent, his expression unreadable.
But Eliza wasn’t interested in his response. She pressed on, her voice steady and cold. “To be honest, I could spare your life. Before coming here, I thoroughly investigated everything you’ve done within the Malone family. You’ve taken many lives, but they were all members of your own family. Clearly, the old matriarch used you as a tool to eliminate dissent.”
“You should count your blessings that your hands aren’t stained with the blood of innocent civilians. Otherwise, I wouldn’t give you any chance at all. But now, you have an opportunity.”
Rafe seemed to grasp her meaning, narrowing his eyes as he asked cautiously, “What do you want me to do?”
Eliza met his wary gaze, her serene smile tinged with cold calculation. “It’s simple,” she said, her voice soft but chilling. “I want you to kill someone.”
