604.Chapter 604
604.Chapter 604
“Ah!”
“Watch out!”
“Why are the killer bees attacking us?”
“What’s going on? Isn’t Rayden supposed to control them?”
Surprisingly, the Malone family was attacked by the killer bees as well.
Suddenly, they heard a sharp buzzing sound.
“What’s that?” someone asked.
They looked up and saw a gold–and–red butterfly hovering above Eliza’s head, its wings shimmering ominously, and the piercing sound was coming from it.
While the Malone family was still trying to make sense of the situation, the killer bees that had been attacking Eliza and Nolan suddenly stopped.
They were confused. “Why did the killer bees stop?”
“Could something have gone wrong with Rayden and the others?” someone asked.
A man quickly refuted, “No, that can’t be it. Something’s off! The ones attacking us haven’t stopped!”
Another man said, “Damn it, I get it now. That butterfly is the King Parasite. It can control the killer bees!”
Vance, who had finally caught his breath, gritted his teeth and said, “I saw that butterfly on the Holy Lady’s head earlier. It’s her! She must be Prince Regent’s sorcerer!”
“What?” Theodore and the others froze. Their faces pale with disbelief. Shock rippled through the group as the realization
hit them.
No one had expected that the sorcerer Nolan had been hiding all along was actually Eliza. And none of them had noticed it before.
“Looks like we underestimated this girl,” Sariyah remarked.
Isaac had been protecting her, so not a single killer bee had hurt her.
But seeing that Eliza was about to gain control of all the bees, Sariyah immediately ordered, “Now’s the time! We have to kill her before she takes full control of the killer bees!”
The Malone family members present immediately grasped the gravity of the situation.
If Eliza managed to command the killer bees, none of them would be able to escape.
“Who could’ve imagined?” someone muttered bitterly. “The bees we painstakingly prepared to deal with Nolan are now turning against us!”
“Theodore, now!” said Sariyah.
“Understood!” Theodore rushed forward immediately.
Even with the killer bees out of control, the Malone family had a backup plan.
“Malone Troops, assemble!” At Theodore’s command, a large number of men burst out of several nearby buildings around the training grounds.
The soldiers were clad in uniform armor, wielding weapons, and one of them carried a flag bearing the Malone family crest high into the air.
Nolan’s piercing gaze scanned the soldiers, his expression darkening as he took in their numbers. Just in the training grounds alone, there were at least four to five hundred of them, not to mention the rest scattered throughout Malone City.
It was quite a sizeable force.
“Lady Sariyah, it seems your family has been plotting rebellion for years. Have you also been colluding with foreign enemies all this time?” Nolan’s voice was icy, his expression grim.
Sariyah replied coolly, “And what if we have?”
Sariyah remained expressionless and said, “Prince Nolan, spare me your self–righteous remarks. My family has never walked the same path as you. Our choices are ours to make, and it’s none of your business.”
As soon as she finished speaking, her tone turned commanding. “What are you waiting for? Theodore, take a squad and kill them!”
The Black Flag soldiers were seasoned veterans who had fought countless battles, so the Malone Troops were no match at all. They practically dropped dead the moment they got close.
“How could this be?” Sariyah struggled to accept the reality before her.
The Malone family had spared no expense in training their soldiers. Yet, their supposedly elite forces were no match for just a few men from Nolan’s Black Flag.
“Mother!” Theodore shouted urgently as he noticed Eliza beginning to withdraw her control, and that the killer bees in the air were starting to rush toward them.
Sariyah gritted her teeth, eyes filled with malice. “Charge! All of you. Attack now!”
“Grandmother, if we send everyone in, our soldiers might all be killed!” Vance said, his face pale.
A ruthless glint flashed in Sariyah’s eyes. “If we don’t kill them, we’ll die! I don’t care if he’s the Prince Regent or she’s the Holy Lady. They must die!”
At this point, Theodore, Vance, and the others knew there was no turning back.
Without hesitation, Theodore charged straight at Nolan, aiming for Eliza standing behind him.
“You’re asking for death!” Nolan’s eyes burned with fury as he swung his blade at Theodore.
Theodore had tried to distract him with a deceptive blow, but Nolan reacted quickly. The blade was coming straight for Theodore’s head. Panic surged through him, and he instinctively raised his sword to block.
“Clang!” Steel clashed.
But in less than a second, Theodore watched in shock as his sword cracked right down the middle. “Damn it!” His face twisted in fear, and he instinctively tried to leap back.
“Too late!” Nolan roared, brandishing his blade forward with unstoppable force. With a loud snap, Theodore’s sword shattered completely.
“No! Mother, help-” Theodore tried to run, but there was no escaping. Nolan’s blade came down, swift and merciless. “Theodore!” Sariyah’s whole body trembled violently when she witnessed that. She nearly collapsed, and only with the support of a nearby Malone family member did she remain standing.
“Kill them!” Sariyah, her hand trembling, pointed at Nolan with seething hatred. “Kill them all! Make them pay for my son’s life!”
