The Lady Nun Seeks Justice (Eliza Stonor) novel Chapter 547

“What are they wearing…?” Eliza frowned and asked.

Nolan, with a cold glint in his eyes, continued her sentence, “They’re wearing the official uniforms of Woteria’s guards”

It seemed that the heavy snow in Woteria had allowed these bandits to run rampant, to the point of even daring to rob and kill officials.

The evidence was clear, and since they had dared to show up right in front of there. Nolan was not going to let these bandits off.

Nolan ordered, “Leave one alive for questioning, the rest–kill,”

“Yes, sir.”

At his command, the Black Flag Army tore off their snow–covered cloaks and drew their swords, rushing towards the bandits on either side of the convoy.

In just moments, the bandits were wiped out, not leaving a single one standing.

Only one person remained- a young man, gaunt, ragged, and barely alive.

The Black Flag Army dragged this person before Eliza and Nolan.

“Lift your head,” Eliza commanded.

Perhaps because her calm voice carried an innate tenderness, the young man instinctively obeyed and lifted his head to look at her.

“You… who are you?” the young man weakly asked.

Eliza didn’t answer his question, but instead asked in return, “What’s your name?”

The young man hesitated, then carefully replied, “My name is Rafe Malone.”

“Rafe Malone?”

“Well, that’s quite… an elegant yet ironic name,” Eliza said, pausing before speaking with an ambiguous expression. Hearing Eliza’s words, Rafe stole a glance at her, his face flushed, and he quickly lowered his head, embarrassed.

Nolan, observing the scene, thought to himself, ‘What’s with the blushing?‘

Nolan coldly fixed his gaze on Rafe, then glanced at his frail figure, which stood in stark contrast to the burly bandits. Interrupting Rafe’s awkwardness, he asked icily, “Are you one of the bandits here, like the others?”

Rafe, his face pale, shook his head, but after a brief hesitation, he nodded slightly.

Nolan, expressionless, said, “You’re shaking your head and nodding at the same time. Are you trying to amuse me?” His piercing gaze made Rafe instinctively shrink back, and he quickly fell to his knees, his face a picture of fear and unease.

“No… no! Please forgive me. I… I’m not like them. I was only captured by them a couple of days ago. I had no choice but to join them out of desperation,” Rafe sobbed, tears streaming down his face.

He wiped his tears and continued, “I have an elderly mother at home. The snow has sealed the mountain, and I haven’t been able to return for two days. I don’t know how she’s doing…”

Rafe’s voice cracked as he pleaded, “Please, if you must kill me, could you at least let me see my mother one last time? Just one last time, please.”

Rafe collapsed onto the ground, crying loudly, his sobs echoing in the cold air.

Had Nolan not been so intimidating, Rafe would have probably crawled over and begged Eliza, saying, “Sir, and this kind- hearted lady, I know I’ve committed a crime. I’m not asking for anything except to see my mother once…”

Before Rafe could finish his sentence, his eyes rolled back, and he suddenly collapsed into the snow.

Eliza furrowed her brow slightly, and a spider leaped from her shoulder, landing on Rafe’s body. It scuttled around his eyes, mouth, and nose, before eventually settling on his wrist.

Eliza focused on the spider’s senses, then spoke to Nolan, “He hasn’t eaten for too long. He’s cold and hungry, so he passed out. Just give him some oatmeal.”

Nolan immediately gave the order.

one who hadn’t, simply by looking at their face.

The reason Nolan agreed was simple–he couldn’t rest easy without knowing she was under his watch.

He had been to Woteria once before, but after the snowstorm, he could no longer recognize the place.

In situations like this, anything could happen, so he couldn’t afford to take chances. Even if it meant putting Eliza at risk, he felt more at ease having her with him.

But unlike Nolan, Eliza, riding on horseback, was preoccupied with thoughts of her pocket farm.

Her pocket farm was now incredibly powerful, and vast. With a mere thought, she could completely block the vision of anyone inside it.

Just like drawing a circle, once she encircled Rudie, he could see nothing beyond the circle, unable to leave.

As long as he didn’t move, he wouldn’t even notice the invisible wall around him.

Eliza planned to use this feature to her advantage.

If she and Nolan ran into trouble, the small issues could be handled by Nolan and the Black Flag Army. But if things got worse, she would step in.

She could quickly hide people inside her pocket farm, knock them unconscious in an instant, thus avoiding any danger while keeping her farm hidden.

Eliza had thought of all this, but little did she know, their journey to Woteria would be far more perilous than she imagined.

And the first danger hit them hard.

After riding for over ten miles, Eliza and Nolan were forced to stop when they reached a mountain pass. The official road through the mountains had been completely buried by snow.

Rafe hadn’t lied to them.
