The King Of Warriors novel (Jared Chance) novel Chapter 6761

Islands covered the sea like fragments of emerald scattered across blue silk.

Some measured only a few dozen feet across and bore nothing but a single unknown spirit tree swaying gently in the wind.

Others rivaled cities in size, complete with mountains, rivers, and buildings. Cultivators could be seen flying between them in the distance.

Spirit vessels carried travelers from island to island. Some resembled weightless leaves that skimmed swiftly across the water.

Others were enormous multistory ships, their hulls covered in intricate sigils that flashed in many colors beneath the sun.

The vast silhouettes gliding far below the surface eclipsed every other wonder.

They resembled mountains in motion, gliding thousands of feet beneath the surface.

Now and then, an enormous tail broke through the water and threw a wave about 1,100 feet into the air. Sunlight shattered the spray into countless crystalline droplets, producing a sudden downpour.

"So this is what they call the Void Sea?"

Master Veridian sounded almost dazed. "I've lived more than 10,000 years, but I've never seen an ocean this vast... And is this entire sea made of spiritual water? All of it?"

He crouched and dipped a hand below the surface.

Clear liquid flowed across his palm, radiating spiritual energy so dense that it was nearly tangible.

His eyes widened further. "Good grief... You could drink this straight from the sea! Its spiritual energy is purer than high-grade spirit crystals!"

Gwendolyn stood beside Jared, the blue ocean and countless streams of light reflected in her ice-blue eyes.

Her long hair rose in the ocean breeze and flashed silver-white in the sunlight.

Without speaking, she allowed a small smile to touch her lips.

Jared surveyed the countless islands and the unending streaks of light crossing the sky.

Those lights were cultivators in flight. Some rode swords alone, some traveled in small groups aboard spirit vessels, and others sat astride enormous aquatic beasts that cut through the waves.

The Void Sea was far busier than he had imagined. It held more than 100 times the traffic of the Nether Abyss.

"We'll establish ourselves on an island first," Jared said.

"We need to learn how the Void Sea operates and gather information about the Water Clan."

Master Veridian stood and shook spiritual water from his hand. "Which way? There are so many islands out there that I'm going cross-eyed."

Jared focused on a prosperous-looking island of moderate size in the distance.

A tall tower rose from it, crowned by a bright spirit lamp visible even in full sunlight. It clearly served as a beacon.

Numerous spirit vessels lay moored around the shore, and cultivators constantly arrived and departed through the air. The island appeared to be an accessible hub where information changed hands freely.

"That one." Jared pointed.

The three took flight together and raced toward the island.

The Void Sea unfolded beneath them like a vast expanse of liquid sapphire.

Through the crystal-clear water, they could see underwater mountains, gorges, and dense aquatic spirit plants. Schools of silver-glowing spirit fish occasionally passed across the seabed like rivers of stars.

After about 15 minutes of flight, they landed at the island's edge.

Pale blue stone paved the ground. It felt warm and smooth underfoot, with an unusual hint of elasticity.

Dozens of spirit vessels were docked nearby. Cultivators loaded cargo, vendors called out their wares, and children splashed along the shore amid a scene of bustling prosperity.

Most buildings used white stone and blue glazed tiles. Their bright, open style could not have differed more from the dark weight of the Nether Abyss.

The shops lining both sides of the street were filled with spiritual materials from the sea: pearls as large as fists, luminous coral, and dried aquatic-beast hides that still radiated spiritual energy.
