Deathly silence gripped the valley.
Every surviving Demonic Cultivator leader had crumpled where he stood.
One shook like a leaf. Another rolled his eyes back and fainted. A third foamed at the mouth as his limbs convulsed, while someone else was too terrified even to cry.
Only one thought remained in their minds: The side we surrendered to was wiped out by a single glance and one quiet "hmph."
The Seven Fairies were equally stunned.
The eldest sister in red stood at the front, her crimson eyes opened wide. Golden bloodstains and fragments of broken artifacts covered the ground and filled the reflection in her pupils.
Her fingers trembled unconsciously. In hundreds of thousands of years of cultivation, she had never reacted that way before.
She had witnessed countless powerful cultivators and battles, but she had never seen anyone end a fight like this.
Mr. Sanders had not attacked, spoken, or deliberately released any power. He had simply stood there and killed every celestial who had descended into the Lower Realm.
The sword in the blue-robed sixth sister's hand still trembled, but its point had lowered toward the ground.
She stared at the celestial experts who had exploded before they could even resist. After a long silence, she forced out a question. "Eldest Sister... what realm has that senior reached?"
The eldest sister in red slowly shook her head. Her voice carried a bewilderment she had not experienced in tens of thousands of years. "I can't see through him... not at all. His realm lies beyond anything I can perceive."
Violet leaned against her eldest sister and looked from Mr. Sanders' profile to Jared's finally relaxed expression. The corners of her lips curved faintly. "Mr. Chance, that senior of yours arrived at exactly the right moment."
Jared smiled but said nothing.
Curiosity and awe filled Gwendolyn's ice-blue eyes.
At last, she understood why Jared always had such confidence and why he could remain composed even in a hopeless situation.
His confidence came from knowing that this unfathomable man would stand behind him.
At the far edge of the valley, two figures cautiously poked their heads out.
Still clutching the young acolyte by the hand, Master Veridian leaned out from behind an enormous rock.
He first studied the golden blood covering the ground, then the remains of the seven bodies that had been blown to pieces. Finally, he looked at the middle-aged man standing beside Jared.
Recognition sent a jolt through Master Veridian. He had encountered Mr. Sanders before in the Ethereal Realm.
"Master..."
The young acolyte clutched the corner of Master Veridian's robe, his voice nervous. "Is Mr. Chance's battle... over?"
Master Veridian did not answer.
Still holding the boy's hand, he hurried toward Jared.
He walked with deliberate haste and enthusiasm, as though afraid he might miss something.
When he reached Jared, he nodded in greeting, then immediately turned his attention to Mr. Sanders.
An ingratiating smile instantly spread across his face. It brimmed with such excessive eagerness and flattery that the wrinkles around his eyes bunched together.
"Well, well! Mr. Sanders! You came after all! I knew you would! I kept telling Mr. Chance that you would never stand aside and do nothing! You're a great man. How could you let these insignificant pests bully Mr. Chance?"
