Saintspire Court stood in the central reaches of the North, built across a long stretch of rolling hills.
"Those hills were called Saintlight Ridge.
The land there rose and fell gently, and spiritual essence gathered in rich currents."
"Long ago, the founder of Saintspire Court had discovered the elder Saintlight array in that place.
From there, he established his sect, rooted its legacy in holy radiance, and passed that inheritance down to the present day."
"The palace had been built entirely from white jade.
It gleamed with gold and brilliance, vast enough to make anyone standing before it feel small."
"Golden glazed tiles covered the palace roof.
Under the sunlight, they flashed so brightly that from a distance, the whole palace looked like a sun set upon the earth."
"Upon the mustering square before the palace stood a massive white jade pillar.
Above the pillar’s crown floated a golden orb. That was Saintspire Court’s palace-guarding treasure, the Eye of Saintlight, said to see everything within 1 thousand miles."
"The cultivators here practiced light-based arcane arts.
Their power shared the same origin as Pole Star Hall’s Saintlight lineage, but it had taken a different path."
"Pole Star Hall’s saintlight leaned toward attack and defense.
Saintspire Court’s light-based arcane arts focused more on perception and purification."
"Their cultivators wore long white robes embroidered at the hems with golden sun patterns.
They carried themselves with a clean, sacred air, as if dust had never once touched them."
When Venerable Starwick arrived at Saintspire Court, Venerable Clarendon was meditating within the great hall.
"Soft light filled the great hall.
Countless glowing emberstone crystals had been set into the dome overhead, brightening the whole High Hall until every corner lay clear.
A faint trace of sandalwood drifted through the air, settling over the hall with a quieting weight."
"Venerable Clarendon looked like a man in his forties.
His features were gentle, and there was something untouched in his brow and eyes, as if the noise of the world had never quite reached him."
"He wore a long white robe.
His long hair had been gathered with a jade hairpin, and a faint golden halo lingered around him."
His cultivation stood at the middle phase of Golden Immortal Level Three, just a little below Venerable Starwick.
"He did not rise to greet him.
He only glanced at Venerable Starwick, his voice carrying a clear distance. ""Hall Master of Pole Star Hall, it has been a long time. The last time we met was at the Northern Convocation of the Way, 3 thousand years ago.
""Back then, you and I exchanged a few moves and neither of us gained the upper hand. Now your strength has grown. You did not come here today to spar with me, did you?"""
Venerable Starwick held himself in check and cupped his fist. "Palace Master of Saintspire Court, I came today to ask Saintspire Court to send troops and join forces with me to encircle and destroy Beastmoor Ridge."
Venerable Clarendon's brow drew in by the slightest degree. "Beastmoor Ridge? That is beast race territory. What does it have to do with me?"
Venerable Starwick laid out the same words again, putting the case before him a second time.
"This time, he did not hide the matter of that relic.
Venerable Clarendon already knew about it. Holding it back would have meant nothing."
"The Beast Sovereign of Beastmoor Ridge, Morgana, has joined forces with the human race's Wellspring Order. They intend to stand against the celestials."
"They have a violet soul in their hands. Hidden inside that soul is an elder-age relic, and its level surpasses Golden Immortal."
