Chapter 444 -443 Epilogue (3)
Throughout the ordeal, Jiang Nanshu kept silent, letting Bao Yan vent irrationally.
She was certain that Bao Yan had gone mad.
After a while, she finally replied indifferently, “Is blaming her death on us the only way to alleviate your guilt toward her?”
Jiang Nanshu chuckled lightly, “You really are despicable.”
The person on the other end, as if provoked, became somewhat hysterical, “Shut up, just shut up! You are the criminals, my Wanwan loved me. It was your deceit that made her leave me, it’s all your fault…”
The cold barrel of a gun pressed against her waist, and Lao Wu’s voice was fierce, “Watch your words and apologize to our boss!”
Jiang Nanshu straightened her spine, a cold smile on her lips, “He deserves an apology? If you dare, kill me now. I’m not afraid of dying, and neither is my child.”
“Heh,” Bao Yan’s voice came through the receiver, “Want to die? Dream on. Wait until Lu Qingyan arrives; it’ll be so romantic for you to die together. Keep a close watch on her, no harm must come to her.”
This outcome was what Jiang Nanshu had anticipated. Before Lu Qingyan arrived, she would be safe; a damaged hostage posed no threat.
Jiang Nanshu closed her eyes slightly, just hoping that Lu Qingyan wouldn’t give up everything because of her.
People only have chances while they are alive, even if she died, she could still seek revenge for her.
The car left Beijing and arrived at a secluded cabin.
Lao Wu forcefully pushed Jiang Nanshu, causing her to stagger; if not for catching herself on the door frame, she would have fallen directly to the ground.
She turned her head to glance at Lao Wu, who scoffed disdainfully, “What are you looking at? It was just a slip of the hand. Even if you lose the child, it doesn’t matter as long as you’re alright. You will still be a threat to that man named Lu.”
He cursed and muttered, “Get inside, you’ll be staying here for the next few days. I want to see how much sincerity that man named Lu can bring to redeem you.”
Jiang Nanshu, holding her belly because of the sudden movement that caused some pain,
calmly walked in and sat on a chair inside to alleviate the pain.
Lao Wu locked the door directly.
He didn’t regard Jiang Nanshu, a pregnant woman, as any threat. A pregnant woman couldn’t turn the world upside down after all.
All the windows in the room were sealed except for a vent above the ceiling.
But at a height of five to six meters, reaching that vent would be difficult.
Once Jiang Nanshu recovered, she looked over at Youyou, who had been tossed aside as well.
After coming to, Youyou huddled in a corner, her lips puckered in fear, large eyes watching her with injuries on her face and arms covered in bruises, looking utterly pitiful.
Her face was somewhat red, her eyelashes slightly moist, as if she had just been crying.
She must have recognized Jiang Nanshu, hence the lack of clinginess from the car ride.
Jiang Nanshu didn’t have time to deal with her at the moment.
She needed to first assess her environment to see if there was any chance to escape.
If she hadn’t been pregnant, she would have taken those men down and escaped long ago.
Bao Yan probably waited for her months to progress and her body to become cumbersome before he enacted his revenge.
He wanted to make sure that none of the people he wanted dead could escape.
Jiang Nanshu bowed her head and sighed, “I’m sorry, baby.”
She wasn’t sure if she could protect him.
If she really lost him…
Jiang Nanshu contemplated this possibility.
She just hoped he wouldn’t blame her, his incapable mother, for not being able to show him the world.
Her eyes grew moist.
Jiang Nanshu looked up, forcing the tears back.
