So where is there a dog? She could clearly understand human speech.
Jiang Nanshu knocked again, "Who are you?"
There was no response inside.
Jiang Nanshu waited a moment, but the person inside still did not speak.
Jiang Nanshu asked another question, "Can you speak? Answer me."
She waited about a minute, but still there was no movement inside.
Jiang Nanshu looked at the lock; without the key, there was simply no way to open it.
Calls of anxious servants came from outside.
Jiang Nanshu frowned and dropped a sentence, "Wait here while I go find the key to let you out."
She didn’t know which word had struck a nerve in the person inside.
The chains were smashed loudly.
Jiang Nanshu walked out, pretending to admire the scenery in the estate’s park.
The servants found her and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Madam, the master is calling you for dinner."
Jiang Nanshu asked what time it was; it turned out to be six o’clock in the evening.
When she returned inside, Lu Qingyan was sitting on the couch.
He looked up at her, "Where have you been?"
Jiang Nanshu, without any change in her expression, replied, "Just taking a stroll outside, I didn’t leave the premises, do you need to control that too?"
Lu Qingyan smiled slightly, "No, it’s just good to have you around."
Jiang Nanshu sat opposite him, staring at him, "Lu Qingyan, what you are doing isn’t right. I am not your property; you can’t restrict my freedom. I am cooperating with you now because I want to understand what exactly is wrong with you. Can you tell me the truth?"
Jiang Nanshu decided to lay her cards on the table first.
Lu Qingyan quietly watched her for two seconds, then suddenly laughed, "What are you talking about? I’m fine. I haven’t restricted your freedom. I set a timetable because I hoped you would come home earlier."
Jiang Nanshu glanced at him, frustrated, "I see you really don’t want to deal properly with me."
Jiang Nanshu wanted Lu Qingyan to open up to her so she could properly advise him, but Lu Qingyan clearly had no such intention.
Was his problem her absence?
