The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 326

I could not be bothered to reprimand Yvonne, but something like this should never happen again.

I stood by the door to wait for Jared. The reporters were talking about Yvonne among themselves. They had been listening to Yvonne's side of the story all this while. Little did they know that so many other things had happened as well.

The people online started berating Yvonne.

"This woman would even hurt her child. She's a monster."

"It's a good thing Jonas isn't with her. If not, I'm really worried that Jonas might be hurt too."

"Thankfully, Xavier doesn't know anything. How sad would he be if he found out that his mother had sold him off for money?"

"This isn't fair to Cole as well. Cole has done so many things for him, yet in the end, all he gets is Xavier's resentment. How is that fair?"

None of them sided with Yvonne.

Lorraine had always been inside the office. When she saw this scene, she could no longer take it. "I'll go and have a look."

"Ms. Sommerton, you can't go out. It's a mess outside. If you're there, you'll only cause Mr. Joplin more trouble."

"Could the situation get any worse?"

I should get Yvonne to come inside too. Xavier had been standing next to Yvonne and was being talked about by others too.

Lorraine was also worried that I was unhappy, so she hesitated for a while. She touched her tummy and thought about Yvonne. She let out a sigh.

She pushed open the door to see me holding Xavier's hand. Meanwhile, tears were welling in Yvonne's eyes as she accepted my reprimands.

"Cole."

When I heard a familiar voice, I turned around.

She smiled tenderly, basking in the happiness of pregnancy. Although she had put on a little weight, she looked even more beautiful than before.

"This is what a generous woman should be like. Just compare her to Yvonne."

"I'm really worried that Yvonne might push Lorraine out of jealousy. Yvonne looks like she's losing it."

Lorraine swept a gaze at those comments and furrowed her brows a little. She squeezed my hand. "Let's go in first. We shouldn't continue on this way."

I didn't want to stand there so that everyone could watch us like some soap opera either. I turned to look at Yvonne and ordered her, "Come in."

Yvonne was stunned for a while before slowly realizing what I meant.

Xavier let go of my hand and ran to her to help her. "Mommy, let's go in."

Yvonne was a little reluctant, but thinking about Jared coming over, she started to get a little worried. She was the heiress to the great Langley family. When had she ever been in such a messy state?
