The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 315

Hayden started to lose his patience since Chris had no intention of leaving at all.

He looked at Chris grimly and waved his hand. "I don't want to sound too harsh, but if Henry really cared about you, he should've already told you why my mother is no longer around. All things given, I'm already being really courteous to you."

Hayden was telling the truth. He hated all cheating men. He would never do business with men like them. If Chris were not somehow related to him, he would not have invited him in at all.

Chris' face flushed red, looking like he was about to lose it.

"Can't you help me, seeing that we're brothers—"

"No. Don't test my patience."

Hayden waved to the receptionist outside. "Please escort him out."

The receptionist looked at Hayden with a grim expression and escorted Chris out of the studio. Chris stood by the door, saying, "Hayden, you're a terrible big brother."

It was only after Chris had left that Hayden's expression resumed normal. He announced to the employees in the studio, "Don't let him in ever again."

Hayden had always had a good temper. Even if someone had offended him, he would not stop them from entering the company. It looked like he was thoroughly furious this time.

Everyone nodded and carefully headed back to work.

Hayden hesitated for a moment before calling Cole. "Are you free to come here?"

Hayden had brewed the tea a long time ago. When he saw me, he teased me, "Look at the world's busiest man finally arriving. The tea went cold a long time ago."

I knew he was just teasing, so I feigned a grumpy look and responded, "Well you could've just moved on with your life. I didn't ask you to wait for me."

I noticed that his brows were furrowed and sensed that something was off.

"What's going on?"

I was no longer joking. I was serious.

Suddenly, he took an envelope from underneath his desk.

"I heard that you're planning on opening a new company?" He smiled and handed me the envelope. "There's some cash in there. It should be enough for you."

"What do you mean by this?" I pushed the envelope back to him. Hayden had been helping Joplin Group out without ever receiving any pay as he did not want to use Henry's money, so I never forced him either.

Now that I had left Joplin Group, I couldn't possibly use his money.

"Don't worry. I have a company overseas."

"Are you serious?" Hayden looked at me in surprise. "Why have I never heard you mention this before?"

"It didn't really take off in the past. But how could a person like me not have a backup plan?"

Hayden looked at me for a long time before nodding. "You're right." He thought that I was no longer the little boy who tagged along by his side. I was old enough to stand on my own two feet. He asked, "Other than opening a new company, are you planning to do anything else?"
