The Heart Left Behind (Cole and Yvonne) novel Chapter 295

I would use the most proper legal means to bring that woman and Chris to court.

News of my departure from Joplin Group quickly spread. Initially, everyone thought that I was joking. It was only when they realized that Lorraine had also left the company that they knew I was serious.

I received over ten phone calls in the morning. It made me wonder if I had been too harsh to them before. Otherwise, why did they all call to lament about my situation the moment I stepped down?

Lorraine's departure from the studio threw the place into chaos. The design plan that was promised to Langley Group was also completed hastily. They were like a bunch of clueless people without Lorraine around.

"I understand. You can just call me if there's anything you don't understand," Lorraine said as she hung up the phone.

I approached her. "Was that from the company?"

"Yes, they call me when there's something they don't understand," Lorraine said helplessly. Ever since she left, the number of issues the studio encountered seemed to skyrocket. She never realized they were so clueless back when she was still working at the studio.

I said, "When you were there, they knew that you'd take care of anything they couldn't handle themselves."

That was why those people never bothered to improve themselves. They probably thought Lorraine would always be there. After all, no one expected me to leave the Joplin family's business. Unfortunately for them, their plans were foiled.

I felt a pang in my heart as I watched Lorraine sit idly in the room.

I knocked on the desk in front of her and said, "Don't worry, I'll get the studio back for you."

Lorraine had left because of me. I would definitely give her a studio identical to the one she had before.

"What do you mean by getting it back for me? Wasn't the studio something you set up for me in the first place?" Lorraine replied.

Even if I was still at Joplin Group, she wouldn't hesitate to give the studio back to me if I wanted it.

Lorraine looked at me affectionately. "Cole, I'm already married to you. Naturally, I'm committed to facing all the difficulties in life with you. You'll definitely be able to make a comeback."

It was Mom's voice.

I exchanged a glance with Lorraine, and she immediately got up from my lap.

"Mom, what's wrong?" Lorraine opened the door to find Mom standing there with a look of worry.

"Mom, what is it?" I asked.

As I looked at her troubled expression, my first thought was that Henry was causing her trouble. "Did Henry come to bother you?"

I stood up, but Mom grabbed my wrist. "It's not him. I just have something I want to tell you."

I felt a bit confused, but before I could say anything, Mom pulled out a bankbook from her pocket. "Cole, I haven't earned much money in my lifetime, so I can't help you much. Take this for now. I'll bring you more once I finalize the divorce and get the settlement."
