At the airport lounge, Lorraine kept asking Paige about the children.
"Paige said that Jonas cried a little, but Xavier had no reaction." Lorraine kept observing my expression. She was afraid I would be unhappy.
"Is there something on my face?"
"No. I'm just saying that Xavier is really understanding." He was only afraid, which was why he said nothing.
"He couldn't get anything from Yvonne, so naturally, he stopped asking for approval." He had tried so hard to help Yvonne with the live streams because he wanted her approval. He still got nothing from her in the end.
I knew that Lorraine was trying to console me. "I understand."
Xavier was much more sensitive compared to Jonas. Jonas had no sense of security, but as long as you made him feel loved, he would be secure.
Xavier was different. He was distrustful of everyone. This was all thanks to Yvonne.
While waiting for the plane to take off, Lorraine was worried that Xavier would secretly run back to Yvonne.
"Xavier still misses Yvonne a lot." After all, Yvonne was his mother.
Lorraine could still remember how Xavier looked on the first day of school. He had tears welled up in his eyes, but he made sure they did not fall. He was just the same as Yvonne.
"If the Quentin incident had not happened, I wouldn't have taken him back." I had not planned on being so ruthless, but Yvonne forced my hand.
"I can't imagine what will happen if Xavier continues to grow up by her side."
I was not going to risk it.
Lorraine squeezed my hand tightly. "I understand."
At the airport, he had been following behind a tall man. The man did not notice him at all. He finally managed to sit behind me and Lorraine. Neither of us noticed him.
He even made a peace sign while looking at us. He had inserted a tracking device that Jonas made in my coat the night before.
The tracking device was initially made for Xavier, since he always thought about running away. Who would have thought that Xavier would use it on me instead?
"Ladies and gentlemen, the flight is ready for boarding."
Xavier took the flight ticket that he got someone to buy on his behalf online. He stood by the boarding gate in a daze. He was not with his parents. Him being alone would surely attract attention.
He thought about it for a while before sticking close to a lady with a long skirt. He managed to sneak onto the plane.
He found his seat and snuck glances at me. He wondered where we were heading too. Soon, he fell asleep.
