Utterly dejected, Masked Man sighed. "Just do it."
Frank laughed before asking in curiosity, "Why aren't you afraid of death anymore?"
Masked Man sighed. "Perhaps it was just wishful thinking from the start, like some ignorant village hick thinking that a lottery ticket would make him the richest man in the world. But there's just no comparison… if only I'd just restrain myself and stick to spending my winnings, then this wouldn't happen at all."
Frank smiled and nodded. "You're right. It's such a shame that you had to run into me… Come on, give it to me, and you'll have your wish."
Masked Man then took off his mask and threw it to Frank.
As Frank took it, he turned back toward the other man to see that it was still a void under the mask. But curiously, a strange sea of stars seem to shine within that void.
"You have the support of the best scientists in the world—I'm sure they would find out how this works. Now do it," he repeated.
Frank nodded and waved his hand, and Masked Man disappeared where he stood.
Soon, the ambulance arrived and took Lightning Man away for treatment.
Jouri arrived soon after, and Frank passed her the mask. "This is the reason he could move freely. See if you can make something like it."
Jouri studied the mask as she took it from Frank, smiling. "I'm actually good at imitation. Don't worry—you'll soon be able to get what you want.
"Also, we've tracked down the person you asked us to find, but he's not in Shagan right now. We'd only be able to move against him once we study how this mask works."
Frank nodded, said goodbye to Jouri and returned into the homestay cottage.
Seeing everyone gathered on the second floor and staring at him in disbelief, Frank asked in curiosity, "What's with those looks? Something on my face?"
