A girl pleaded softly, "Please, sir. We made a mistake… Forgive us! As a man, you should assume the responsibility of protecting us! I'm begging you!"
Frank did not budge from her miserable begging, however. "Sorry, I'm not a hero and you're not a damsel. Such cheap words really wouldn't force my hand.
"Also, everyone else really doesn't need to bother with moral blackmail. Because to tell the truth, I'm immoral!"
The college students were left trading glances.
But right now, Frank was the only one who could save them!
As such, they had no choice but to ask, "What do we have to do for you to help?"
"It's simple!"
Frank held up two fingers. "First, get off this mountain! Second, apologize to the rangers who came to help! Do you really not know how much trouble your mischief has caused for them?"
The college students did not really agree but had no choice but to comply since they needed Frank.
"I hope you'll make good on your promise!"
Then, with just a stare, Frank sent the wolves fleeing.
Before he could say another word, the college students clamored to accuse him, "And you say this isn't your doing?! Then would those wolves obey you?!"
"You actually call yourselves college students?"
Frank smirked. "I've met plenty—there are naive ones and kind ones, but a bunch as despicable as all of you is really a first for me! It's no exaggeration to say that you all really put the rest to shame!"
"Say that again, I dare you!" a male student strode up, rolling up his sleeves and ready to test himself against Frank.
Frank nodded, smiling. "What's so shocking? I would've flown up to the peak if I hadn't noticed you!"
The rangers were left bewildered again.
Still, the chief ranger calmed himself down and asked tentatively, "Kid, so what has become of those college students?"
"You're actually still worried about them." Frank snorted in annoyance. "They certainly aren't worried for you!"
The chief ranger sighed. "It's a human life either way, and the responsibility falls on our heads if they really died. In the end, the best thing to do is to lead them off the mountain."
Frank smiled and nodded again.
He had threatened the college students precisely because of that.
