The tall girl rolled her eyes. "It's just one phone call. Haven't you heard of prank calls? Y'all don't take responsibility seriously anyway—who knows if you'd come?
"And if it comes down to it, this was just a drill. We could report you if you failed it!"
The chief ranger was left thoroughly seething by the tall girl's unreasonable retort.
But so what if he was? He certainly could not lay a finger on these children!
In fact, not only did he have to show restraint, but he also tried persuading them to leave again out of concern for their safety.
"Anyway," he said calmly, "your tent really isn't going to help you survive. Come with us—we're getting off the mountain."
"Who do you think you are? You have no right to order us around!"
"You better watch it, or we'd sue!"
The chief ranger felt like he was being fed dung—who were these suicidal and difficult people?!
However, he could not just turn his back on them either. These kids were here as tourists, and he could not let them just die like that.
Without another word, he started toward the tents.
A burly male college student strode up right then, his fist poised to punch the chief ranger.
Nonetheless, Frank appeared out of nowhere, grabbing his wrist and snapping, "Are you crazy?"
With a light shove, he knocked the burly student to the floor.
However, the other college students promptly encircled him as they saw that. "What's your problem, pretty boy? Wanna fight?!"
The chief ranger was livid. "Don't you dare put the blame on us! Your friend was going to attack me!"
Knowing that it would hurt Mount Statera's reputation as a tourist spot, the chief ranger snapped at the boy, "Stop recording!"
The boy simply laughed. "What, just because you said so?! We called this out as harassment, but you denied it. This is called freedom of speech. Get it?!"
"Fine, do whatever you like as long as you survive! Your video is proof that we tried. Let's go!"
Unlike the chief ranger, Frank was not about to play to the tune of these brats.
To put it bluntly, one could only save those who were willing to be saved. It was only by showing these brats how ignorant they were that they would learn their lessons.
"What…"
The chief ranger tried to talk Frank out of it, only to be pulled away firmly.
The other rangers were apathetic in the first place and followed Frank's lead to leave.
