The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2569

In reality, it was obvious who hired Crewcut—Frank was simply interrogating him just to see if he had a conscience.

"Don't push your luck, brat!" Crewcut snapped. "I'll give it to you straight—I spared you not because I'm kind, but because of my master's last words. He had warned me I must not hesitate to spare anyone who can dispel our ghost fire!"

"I see!" Frank nodded in realization. "Or perhaps you misremembered, and your master didn't tell you to spare me but to cooperate instead?"

"Don't push it!" Crewcut was incensed by Frank's disrespect.

"Oh, but I'll keep pushing it! Now tell me who hired you!" Frank barked.

"You asked for it!" Crewcut bellowed in rage and leapt forward.

Ghostfires appeared in both his hands, and he swung at Frank.

He was taken by surprise by Frank's reflexes, as he dodged it, caught the ghostfire, and actually launched them back at Crewcut.

Terrified, Crewcut tried to dodge but it was too late—the ghostfire struck true, engulfing him in its flames instantly.

"Just you wait!" he snapped.

However, he promptly fled as he extinguished the flames, seeing that he was no match for Frank.

Frank was not about to let him off, however, and leapt effortlessly into the air, closing the distance in the blink of an eye.

Seizing him by his shirt, he slammed Crewcut heavily onto the ground!

Unable to get away, Crewcut ignited countless more ghostfires over his palm and shot them toward Frank rapidly like bullets.

Even as Frank dodged everything, he chuckled. "Guess I was holding back too much!"

He then reached out, grabbing another ghostfire and launching it at Crewcut.

Unable to move in time, Crewcut was engulfed in flames again… but this time, he could not extinguish it!

Even as he writhed around on the floor in agony, he screamed, "T-This is impossible! You're so young… How can you be this strong?!"

Without giving Crewcut time to argue, he flung the other man into the distance.

He stepped out of the abandoned apartment project just then and saw that the burly men had remained.

They were waiting anxiously and sighed in relief when they saw that Frank had returned alive.

"Don't do that ever again, kid. You really shouldn't push yourself."

"We understand that you're helping out of kindness, but it's really not worth dying over people like us."

Jada laughed nearby. "You don't get him—this is what he loves doing, and he would do it tirelessly, so don't worry about him!"

Frank chuckled and turned to the proprietors. "Can you contact those business owners?"

"Yes, are you—"

"I have time on my hands anyway." Frank shrugged. "Just wire me ten bucks as an employment fee, and I will fight for justice on your behalf."
