The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2529

Arya hung her head in silence—truth be told, the karaoke bar owner was the most powerful man in her social circle.

She just did not expect him to be suddenly so amicable despite his usual bravado.

"You don't get it, do you?"

Hana read her mind just then, and chuckled coolly. "Take a good look at his business. He may not be rich or important, but his business at least earns him wealth and freedom in this district.

"Sure, things can get unruly, but he had no reason to stoop to that level. All the money that he's earned thus far will be gone once he goes to jail!

"Heck, his true nature doesn't even matter in this equation. In business, it's fundamentally important to know when to make peace. Would he get customers if fights erupt at his bar every other day?"

"Impossible!" Arya argued. "He's not like that… He said that he's sold people to third-world countries as slaves, and that I should introduce him to some nice girls if I ever meet any!"

"Oh, girlie…"

Hana smiled in wry amusement. "Do you think third-world countries are some sort of paradise? It's hella far, and he loses a lot of money if anything happens to their transport en route."

That was when Frank shook his head. "Doesn't matter. We need to look further into this."

"What?!" Hana frowned. "Are you really taking this broad seriously? Hell, even if she's not bullshitting, there's every chance the owner was just talking out of his ass."

Frank shook his head again. "Doesn't seem like it. There's the scent of blood on him, and I can tell it's human. Moreover, you weren't taking notice of that look in his eyes. No one would have that look if they haven't taken lives before!"

On the other hand, Hana had her own thoughts on the matter. "I can't necessarily agree. The times have really improved, especially over the last few years. It's only twentyish years ago when murders were commonplace and karaoke bar owners were always the unruly types."

Frank shrugged. "We'll see. We have nothing else on our plate anyway."

"Fine." Hana knew Frank well enough to know that no one could change his mind.

"What's that shifty look for?" Arya flinched, as she realized Frank was up to no good.

"Call the boys!" he shrieked. "Teach this bitch some manners"!

The front desk receptionist promptly picked up her walkie-talkie and summoned a handful of bouncers.

However, the men just stepped in when a sudden gust knocked them off their feet.

The manager gasped, forgetting his agony for a moment.

What the hell? So there were really some forces at play they did not understand?

That should not be the case. Someone like Arya would never get protection from anyone noteworthy.

"Call your boss. Tell him to bring more people!" Arya kept snapping just then.
