The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2443

On the other hand, Moxxi was not surprised as Jada was. "I didn't think that a big shot like you would show up here."

Having worked on Wall Street albeit not owning anything, she still could say she had been there and done it.

Colossus? That was just the bare minimum, and it was up to her to decide if Hana was the real deal!

"Do you know about Jade Cauldron School?" Frank asked, more concerned about Hal.

Hana nodded. "One of us used to work there, but it's just a front for con men. It's really a far cry from Zephyr Hall."

"And who is that person?"

"Hal Prana. In fact, he's dead, and we're here to investigate why." Hana sighed. "I guess the helicopter breaking down was no accident either—someone doesn't want us to pry."

Jada and Moxxi shared a smile, while Frank nodded. "Would you believe me if I told you that the people behind Hal's death didn't sabotage your ride?"

Hana smiled and nodded without hesitation. "Of course! Shifting suspicion is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Not about to fall for that."

Frank nodded, satisfied. "Good. Then I'm not gonna sugarcoat it—I killed Hal!"

"What?!"

Both of Hana's goons were shocked but were soon advancing on Frank, though an immense force soon rendered them immobile.

Hana smiled. "I'm not fond of gems or other precious stones, Mr. Frankton. And if I really want it, I just have to buy it—why would I commit crimes for it? That being said, Hal was plenty rich himself, so I'm sure he's after something else."

"Exactly!" Frank nodded. "I won't go into detail, but I must ask why you aren't aware of Hal's activities."

Hana sighed and shrugged in exasperation. "Now you're just bullying me, Mr. Frankton. Who would demand a girl to prove his own evidence? For example, what if I labeled you a murder but never presented evidence, instead asking you to prove that you never killed anyone? Do you think that works for you?

"That being said, you did save my life, and this case is unique. Since it wasn't that hard to gather evidence, I can enlighten you further."

Hana's tone changed sharply as she continued, "I'm sure you can see by now that someone wants me dead. And unlike you, I'm an ordinary, vulnerable woman. It's natural that there are plenty of dissenters in the many companies I own, to the point that they're basically split in two factions now.

"Hal Prana just happened to be on the side of the dissenters. I know it's weird that I'd help them, but it's simple, really… I suspect someone is trying to incite infighting!"
