Frank chuckled coolly. "At least your brain works, but it's a pity you have no idea what your boss is guilty of."
Whipping out an A4 sheet, he announced, "Everyone, gather round! Read up on Matteo Crass' crimes over recent years!
"All you know is that he built several factories and gave you jobs, but none of you are aware that he's paying way beneath the standard pay rate!
"As for the basic amenities, it has nothing to do with them. It's the former villagers who funded it, and he was just a site supervisor. Since the former villagers are usually away, he claimed all the accomplishments for himself!"
The villagers read through the sheet and turned pale as the evidence was all there. They never thought that Matteo was such scum!
Naturally, Matteo was furious to see that none of the villagers were attacking him. "Go on, do it! Fuck him up! Why are you talking to him?! What a waste of time!"
Even as he was busy complaining to himself, he suddenly saw Frank turning to stare at him.
Then, before he could react, Frank was already directly in front of him!
Matteo tried to run but naturally could not as Frank kicked him to the floor.
"W-What the fuck do you want?!" he shrieked.
Frank chuckled. "To bring you to justice, of course!"
Knowing that he could not win, Matteo gave up on fleeing and promptly begged, "Look, brother, I know I messed up, and I know who you really are! I swear to turn a new leaf from now on—just let me go, and I'll pay you however much money you want!"
Frank chuckled coolly. "I gave you a chance—two, in fact—but you didn't take them! Did you really think you could incite the villagers to suit your own purposes? You're kidding—they're not that stupid, and with sufficient evidence, they'd never side with you!
"You're quite dumb too, holding back on their salaries after making so much money. You want them to suck up to you, but you refuse to pay them? Did you really think it works that way?"
"Just like you, he could teleport, which was why I begged him to give me something more specific, and that led to the present."
Frank nodded. "At least you're honest! But why would you run it through Elizabeth?"
Matteo shrugged. "I didn't know about superhumans, but I know that I'd be screwed if anything goes south. But that won't be the case if I hired someone like Elizabeth.
"It's only natural that everyone would connect her to foreign syndicates known to steal national artifacts, and no one would ever doubt it for a second. And while they were busy being misdirected, I'd have plenty of time to bail."
Frank nodded in understanding.
So in the end, Matteo was just a wise guy who had planned every move he made, but he unfortunately had to run into Frank!
