The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2405

The tomb raiders' eyes lit up. "Like… X-ray vision?"

Sylvie shrugged. "Probably. Ask him!"

However, none of the tomb raiders said a word since they were afraid to mess with Frank.

After a brief silence, the woman who had tried to shoot Frank earlier asked, "Can you predict the future?"

Sylvie giggled in amusement. "You were just trying to kill him, and you're not scared of him already?"

"Actually, I was horrified." The woman flashed a weary smile. "But I'm now getting the feeling he's a good man! That alone sets him above the rest, present company included."

She was being honest too—her colleagues were ready to let Frank have her just because they were worried Frank would lash out in resentment.

Frank was certainly a real gentleman in comparison!

"Actually, I don't have X-ray vision…"

That was when Frank chuckled and pointed down the passage. "But I can sense what most people can't."

Everyone turned to find little bright orbs shining in the darkness, with more appearing one after the other.

Even as the tomb raiders traded glances, the bats started swarming toward them!

"Shit! Fire, fire!"

Red Shirt had already noticed the cramped space they were in and quickly decided that they would only be safe if they attacked.

He and the rest of the team whipped out their guns, the crack of gunshots resounding down the passage.

But horrifically, the bats did not die when shot—instead, they split in two, multiplying instantly!

Everyone was left gaping—that was worse than the snakes before!

That was when Frank suddenly coughed.

He did it just once, but the bats promptly fled as if spooked.

Still, it suited him just fine… He could just keep using this to threaten them!

"Just help me reach Elizabeth," he said, "and you won't ever be tailed."

"Tailed?" The tomb raiders were surprised.

"By things that go bump in the night!" Sylvie giggled, feeling playful as she mimicked Frank.

Nonetheless, the tomb raiders all bought it and swore, "We will do everything you say! Don't worry!"

After another break, they continued forward, reaching yet another burial chamber.

Unlike the others, this one had no grave goods. It was empty save for a coffin—which was different from the stone sarcophagus of the other burial chambers. The carvings on it were bright and new too, as if it was only brought there recently.

Red Shirt could not help being perplexed. "Strange!"

His colleagues had to agree. They had never seen something like this despite having explored many other graves, though it made sense, come to think of it, since plenty other oddities had been occurring in this particular tomb.
