The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2345

Like ginseng roots, the value of the Bright Sky Herb was directly proportional to the percentage it was intact.

And as the root hairs were basically where the medicinal essence was concentrated, one less meant a major loss in medicinal effect, and with it, its grade.

Nonetheless, Mr. Quaker was smiling smugly. "I won't lie—they were affecting its aesthetic, so I trimmed it off!"

Frank was unsure if he should laugh or cry.

So he recognized the Bright Sky Herb but remained an amateur.

Trimming off those root hairs? Talk about being dumb!

Frank pointed at Zangi. "Why don't you ask him what happens if you trim the root hairs?"

Zangi scowled. "Mr. Quaker, it's the root hairs that decide the herb's value. You're just throwing away money."

Mr. Quaker frowned, clearly not expecting that.

Frank then said, "If you suspect that we're conspiring with each other, you could ask another specialist. Still, I will make it worth your while—five million for the herb. How about that?"

Zangi flinched in surprise and hurried to Frank's side, whispering into his ear, "Sir, you have to think this through. At that grade, that herb isn't even worth two mil!"

Frank nodded but said nothing—he was well aware, but the problem here was that the Bright Sky Herb was exceedingly hard to find. Who knew when he would come across another if he missed out on this one?

Moreover, retaining the medicinal value was more important to cultivators, but for treating an illness, this was actually enough.

"Alright, five million it is."

Mr. Quaker sighed in exasperation, but he had no choice—he had to take responsibility for his own stupidity.

Since it was late and wire transfer at this hour was not possible, Frank had Jada prepare five million in cash beforehand.

"Just remember to come to me if you're looking to acquire herbs again, and I'll also keep an eye out for anything you need—without charge!"

Despite Zangi's greed, he was not the type whose focus was solely on money.

Also, he could very well see that Frank was not your ordinary man. If he properly sucked up to Frank, he would not have to sweat the small details as he would be getting all the goodies he liked!

Frank chuckled. "Then I'll take you up on your offer. Don't get upset if I keep bothering you now."

"No way! I'd be overjoyed!"

They had a little small talk, before Mr. Quaker returned and started checking the dollar bills right in front of Frank.

Since he was no professional and it was a lot of money, he kept counting until the restaurant closed and had to switch to a motel.

It was not until the next day when Mr. Quaker was finally done checking.
