The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2204

"Don't worry, it's not a trap. I'm cunning, but I'm not an ingrate either."

And with those words, Sky Mystic Two got up and left.

Sadie was not bothered to walk her out and waited until she was gone before whispering, "Master, Sky Mystic Two and I aren't really friends, and I think she can't be trusted. I'd really suggest that you be careful."

Frank smirked. "Careful? Is that necessary for me? Anyway, you don't have anything to do right now, do you? Come on, let's go check it out."

Sadie plucked the sticky note off her face and nodded. "Yes, sir!"

They quickly took the Range Rover and headed to the point marked on the map—an amusement park which appeared to have been abandoned for a while.

Frank sensed an oddness in the air as soon as he alighted.

Moreover, this was a busy part of town, with towering luxurious apartments nearby and a giant mall.

Why would such a nice plot of plant stay abandoned for years without anyone trying to develop it?

"Master, look!" Sadie pointed at a warning sign nearby that said 'radioactive'. "Maybe we should put on hazmat suits before going inside…"

She was concerned, and one should always be prepared for the worst when it came to things like these.

"You're being paranoid." Frank chuckled. "If this place is really radioactive, this whole place would be empty, but look."

He pointed at a pond in the amusement park, where they could more or less see some fishes.

"Right…" Sadie smiled, trying to hide her fear just then. "Guess I was just freaking out. Don't get upset at me now, master."

Then, she mustered her courage and went inside, but as soon as she stepped through the doorway, the giant tree beside it suddenly twitched.

Soon, the tendrils that were coiling around the tree trunk slithered away like serpents, catching Sadie by the ankles and lifting her up in the air!

"Help! Help me, master!"

While he appeared to be talking to himself in Sadie's perspective, she simply did not know that Frank could hear someone breathing in the hut and had sensed a presence inside for a while.

Unsurprisingly, an eerie laughter rang just as he finished, as endless tendrils suddenly streaked toward him.

"Watch out, master!"

It was only after Sadie yelled the warning that she realized how stupid she was—even before she finished, Frank had stomped his foot on the ground.

Countless rocks and pebbles were launched into the air, slicing through the tendrils!

"That's my mentor for you… he's really the best!"

Sadie could not help clapping for Frank—she had seen Frank's frightening might in action before, but this was yet another moment that left her utterly impressed.

She certainly felt lucky—if Ida Cahn had not stopped her back then, she really would not have gotten herself such a terrific mentor!
