However, neither Frank nor Sadie were afraid. In fact, they were laughing.
"You really should think about this." Sadie bragged about her mentor proudly, saying, "This man isn't your average Joe—the entire fraternity would never win against him, let alone you going alone."
Sky Mystic Two snorted but said nothing.
Soon, the medicinal soup was done, and Frank poured a small bowl and brought it to Sky Mystic Two.
"The effect won't be that obvious, and I have to adjust your acupoints along with it, but you won't mind, yes?"
Sky Mystic Two remained silent but gulped down the soup despite it still being burning hot.
When she finished, Frank walked up, wielding his fingers like blades as he rapidly touched Sky Mystic Two's acupoints, with Sadie actually seeing afterimages.
At the same time, Sky Mystic Two felt a warmth unfurling in her stomach, rapidly streaming throughout her limbs while clearing all the eerie sensation she had felt before.
"H-How mysterious!" she exclaimed as she touched her own cheeks.
Though she had yet to fully recover, the craggy texture from before was gone, and the ulcers were healing!
"There's plenty of mystery in the world." Sadie smiled proudly. "Alda Ingram had been bedridden for a long time, and every other medical expert was ready to give up on her, but it took my mentor little effort to cure her entirely."
Frank smiled and returned to his seat. "You should look into the mirror."
"I don't have mirrors here."
Sky Mystic Two shook her head—she had feared her reflection ever since she was disfigured. Even the glass of her windows were frosted so that they would not be reflective.
Sadie was going to promise her when Frank said, "That depends on the situation. If he went too far, I can't look the other way."
Sky Mystic Two smiled wryly. "I would plead his case, but I also know what you're like. You'll do what you want to, even if the Shagan commissioner is here, won't you?"
Frank smiled but said nothing else, while Sky Mystic Two nodded. "I can give you the address. Can you give me the recipe for that soup now?"
"You mean the soup I cooked for you?" Frank raised a brow. "So you're presuming that I'm withholding the complete treatment? Don't worry—I bought you three batches worth, and you'll make a full recovery if you take your prescription on time."
Sky Mystic Two was really surprised, as she did presume that Frank would hold back from giving her the full treatment. He certainly needed insurance so that she would not break her promise, but it turned out that he was a bigger person than she gave him credit for.
She smiled awkwardly. "It's rather jarring meeting someone like you, after seemingly getting used to deceit and treachery."
