The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2190

Jason eyed Lara and understood what Meg was planning.

Frank was his brother from another mother, so he was not about to impose and left with Meg, leaving just Frank and Lara in the room.

Lara took a sip of her drink and suddenly felt much better, even boldly asking, "Where have you been, Lugh? Why didn't you call?"

"Where else could I be?" Frank smiled. "I had things to sort out, but I couldn't let you know or there'd be trouble."

Lara pouted. "What trouble? Are you a secret agent or something?"

"You got that right. What I'm doing is no different from that."

"Really?!"

Lara sprang up, wobbling away. "I need the ladies' room… Don't leave, wait for me."

As she turned, she lost her footing and almost fell headfirst, but Frank caught her quickly, saving her from some serious trouble.

Still, before he could withdraw his hand, Lara caught him, purring, "Don't you feel good?"

"What's gotten into you?"

Frank chuckled, curious as to why the usually haughty Lara was behaving like this.

"It's all your fault!"

Spurred by liquid courage, Lara gave up on all pretenses as she wrapped her arms around Frank's shoulder and flashed a silly smile at him.

That chiseled cheeks, captivating gaze, healthy black hair with several strands dangling from the front, his immaculate fashion, and peerlessly handsome face… With his strength and kindness on top of that, he really was Lara's dream.

"Why are you so handsome?"

"Dunno. Ask my parents."

"You're terrible! I'm praising you—can't you praise me too?"

He must have his revenge!

Outside, Meg and Jason could see everything clearly.

"The people around you are amazing, Mr. Chand," Meg giggled. "Be it your PR department or Ms. Gold… Tut, tut. You've really trained them well.

Jason was not sure if he should laugh or cry, as he was not particularly involved with Linda Yates' gang. They were infamous for going all-out whenever they saw a pretty boy, even before joining Jason's company.

As for Lara, even Jason had no idea that she could be so bold, and it was even more shocking to see the same apply to Meg.

"You're certainly not outdone by much either, Ms. Quill." Jason chuckled. "Getting all frisky in the room, and I even heard you were sitting on his lap.

"To be honest, that's not bad for a bold move. I like you."

While Meg's boldness was limited to Frank, and she was otherwise conservative, she was not the kind of girl who blushed from teasing either.
