Alda was terrible at taking the offensive and merely shoved Jouri.
"Well, you had your chance, so don't blame me. Frank, let Meg sit on your back and do twenty push-ups."
Frank promptly dropped to the floor, and Meg sat on his back while counting.
"One!"
"Two…"
On the other hand, Jouri was not looking Frank's way as she whispered to Alda, "Aren't you jealous?"
"Why would I be?" Alda smiled. "He can do anything he likes as long as I'm the first in his heart, with no one coming close."
Jouri gave her a huge thumbs-up. "You city girls really know how to play the game."
Just then, Frank was done with his push-ups.
Meg was reluctant to leave Frank's embrace, but too much of a good thing could be bad, so she sat beside Frank instead.
However, Jouri quickly noticed that. "A bet's a bet! It isn't time yet!"
Meg flashed a chagrined smile and winked at Frank but sat on his lap again.
"Now that's better!"
Jouri was going to roll the dice again when her phone rang.
"I have something important to attend to—you girls enjoy yourselves," she said, getting up and getting ready to leave.
Meg quickly got up as well, "Wait, Ms. Yelin. You shouldn't drive since you've been drinking—I'll get you a driver."
"Since Jouri is leaving, I think we should go too, Mr. Frankton," Alda said.
"Sure. We can come again another day." Frank nodded.
He was holding a baseball bat and was grinning ear-to-ear when he saw that Meg and everyone else were there. "So you're here? Good! I'll get my revenge now!"
Meg scowled. "You're really asking for it, huh?"
The fat man chuckled. "You're the one who's asking for it, Ms. Quill! Just look at my boys and the way they're looking at you… Give up already, or I'll let them have you!"
With those words, the goons were at once interested.
While the waiters arrived with the bouncers too, there were just around ten of them, and they were clearly outnumbered.
The fat man snapped, "This is none of your business. I'm here for her! Come on, kneel down and call me daddy!"
"Fuck off!" Meg was not about to cave, snapping viciously, "Go!"
However, the waiters and the bouncers did not move despite her order.
They were seriously outnumbered, and they would die terribly if they so much as hollered at them.
