While Jouri and Alda were busy joking around, Meg finished her push-ups.
"Let's continue!"
Frank and Meg both rolled their dice, and it was a dramatic reversal this time—Meg had five threes, while Frank had two sixes, two, five, and four.
It was a really bad roll, and Alda was left wondering if the program was unreliable… Why would there always be five-of-a-kind in every roll?
"Five threes!" Meg exclaimed, confident now that she had a good roll.
"Six threes!"
Frank did not have threes, but it was never about one's roll—bluffing worked on occasion.
"Seven threes!"
To no surprise, Meg fell for it.
Despite having a good roll, there was no way she was getting a bet—Frank's poker face was just that good, and the odds were in her favor, so she decided to bet on Frank.
"Showdown."
Meg was chuckling in exasperation when she saw that Frank did not have a three.
There were plenty of newbies who got ahead of themselves because they had a good roll, and it was surprising that a veteran like her would fall for the same dangers too.
"Risk, again. Because I have nothing to confess." Jouri scowled but remained defiant.
"Now that's a problem…"
Alda did not expect to win—it was expected when they had good rolls, but they won anyway with a bad roll.
While she had no idea what penalty to give out, Jouri reminded her, "Don't decide on your own. Let Lugh decide too."
Do it! Even better, rip it all off!
"This is enough, right?" Jouri stopped nonetheless when she thought it was enough and turned toward Alda and Frank.
Alda flashed a pained smile. "Don't you think that's too much?"
Jouri chuckled. "Too much? I'm telling you—I'm not. If anything, I'm helping her."
Meg did a double take, but it was not surprising that Jouri had gotten where she was today.
She had been perfectly discreet, but Jouri saw through her anyway.
No average person could keep up with such wit and shrewdness, especially Alda, who was miles behind.
Still, judging from her reaction, Jouri did not seem to mind.
