The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2132

"You're not leaving?"

Frank was not sure if he should laugh or cry, seeing that Sylvie was staying put.

Sylvie shrugged. "Why would I? Now give me your phone. I'm applying for leave."

"So you two know each other?" Alda asked as she sat beside Frank.

Sylvie giggled. "Oh, we go far beyond knowing!"

Alda always had an accurate six sense and soon guessed the connection.

Still, it was normal for men to fool around, so she was not concerned.

"Well, since we have nothing to do, let's play poker!" Sylvie then suggested.

"Huh?!" Alda flushed right then.

"I mean actual poker! What are you thinking?" Sylvie smiled at Alda, surprised that the maiden was so knowledgeable despite her naive appearance.

"N-Nothing!" Alda quickly said.

However, they played for over an hour and got bored, so they went out for a stroll.

At the foot of the hill, they met an old man who was heading up the hill to pick fruits and other herbs.

He immediately ran up to the trio, asking, "Is that villa yours? It's just so grand—I've been to the big city myself and seen plenty, but that villa is really a first!"

Frank smiled and shook his head. "No, it isn't ours!"

"Oh, it's alright. I just remembered that I need to head home since I'm busy," the old man quickly said, too scared to follow Frank now, and turned to leave.

Returning to the village, the old man saw his elderly friends sitting around outside the village and went over.

A pair of them were playing chess, while the others were chatting.

When he finally calmed down, the old man bragged, "Do you know about the hill on the east?"

"Why wouldn't we?" a balding geezer replied. "It was a mass grave that not even the spirits would venture. What could happen there?"

The old man laughed. "Even the spirits wouldn't dare venture? It's exactly because you don't dare to go that you wouldn't know what has become of that place!"

A geezer with a goatee snorted. "What has become of that place, you ask? My pup just happened to run up there a couple of years ago, so I've been there myself. There wasn't a soul to be seen!"
