But that was how reality was for Frank, and it kept repeating himself!
On the other hand, Lara was no longer in the mood for a bath after that rat scare. She strode out of the bathroom straight up to Frank. "You saw nothing!"
"Indeed."
Lara nodded but remained dissatisfied—Frank's eyes almost bore a hole into her, but what could she do when she was too embarrassed to ask?
Whatever—he did save her life, and she was the one who asked him to bring her here. It would be shameless of her to snap at him!
"Thank you… for that," she said instead.
Frank was actually puzzled by Lara's unusual reaction. "Don't you feel upset?"
Lara smiled in wry amusement. "Then what am I supposed to do? Demand that I get a look too?"
Frank chuckled. "See? You look so good smiling. Don't you get tired of scowling all the time?"
Lara sighed, and as she watched the woman working on the chickens, she had a hunch that Frank had bought them. "I guess I could let it slide if you're making it up to me with that."
Frank was not sure how to react. "Are you suggesting that I can do anything I like just by spending some money and buying you food?"
Lara did a double take, not expecting such a catch in what she said herself.
Still, she turned to leave since she could not argue.
Frank chuckled in turn and carried the chickens as he headed back to the camp with Lara.
Sylvie handily started a fire, heating a pot.
However, it was really shocking that ladies with high social standing like Linda, Sylvie, and even Alda Ingram would fall for Frank too. Did he perhaps save the universe in a past life?
Still, considering Frank's immaculate knowledge in medicine, formidable martial arts skills, and positive character overall, Tigris did not feel all that envious.
It was only natural the ladies would fall for such a colorful character like him.
Frank checked his watch just then and quickly beckoned at everyone after checking the time. "I think it's cooked. Gather round, everyone!"
Everyone was famished and promptly flocked around to get their fill, praising Frank's culinary skills while wolfing down their food.
"You have really sharp eyes, team leader!" One of the expedition members could not help teasing Sylvie just then. "Your boy's not just strong, but he can cook too! It's a good life from now on!"
Sylvie took it in stride, even joining in on the joke. "I've been doing good deeds for the most of my life. It's time I enjoy the rewards of good karma!"
