Later in the afternoon, when Frank headed to the hospital to visit Jason, he was studying Frank like they were meeting for the first time.
Eventually, he sighed. "Aren't you just lucky or what? I heard that as soon as you insulted Verde Ceres, his company was suddenly boycotted, and word is that the man is on the run already!"
Tigris chuckled. "Some people are just that lucky, boss! You wouldn't know this, but when we were at Ingram Mansion, he wasn't even worried about kissing Alda Ingram right in front of her father!"
Jason laughed. "Well, it makes sense. Just look at that face and that bod. Which woman wouldn't be interested?"
As the pair started teasing him, Frank sighed. "Did you call me here just to make fun of me?"
"Of course not—let's get serious now."
Jason quickly shook his head. "See, although it's all over for Verde now, his people managed to find an old tomb. There are some official parties who were made aware of that and were interested in an expedition. Would you happen to have time to join them?
"Don't worry—they've shown their credentials, and they're not here for profit. And naturally, it also depends on whether you agree to it. I'll say no if you don't, since they're officials, not dumb pricks like Verde who would harass us for it."
Frank actually wanted to say no, but considering that he had troubled Jason for a while now, he definitely had to help.
"Sure, I'll go," he said, nodding.
"Great!" Jason grinned. "Now, I'm not being tedious—but although we're going as security, there's no reason to die for the client. Stay sharp, and run when you should, so you won't die for some stupid reason!"
"Don't worry about that," Frank said, unsure how he should react.
It went without saying that he would protect himself, considering how much he valued his own life.
"I'll go with you, Mr. Frankton!" Tigris offered.
Jason nodded beside him. "Yeah, bring Tigris and the others along. He looks unseemly, but he's experienced and often accompanies expeditions!"
Tigris nodded. "Good. Spares us the bother of taking care of him."
Jason turned toward Frank. "What's wrong? Something on your mind?"
Frank shook his head. "Where's this tomb?"
Jason thought about it. "I think it's around town, but I don't remember where, specifically. It's here in Shagan, though. I just don't get how they found it since there aren't many tombs around here, unlike the city."
If Jason noticed it, Frank certainly did.
It happened in this town on top of that… could they be the group supporting Stanley Durban?
Frank felt that he was getting very close but simply did not have anything concrete.
