The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 1874

"However, we are willing to pardon every guard involved in the failed coup for now, and even agree to your demands of letting your families go. But…"

Waving them off and chuckling, Rex's tone changed sharply even as he continued. "Before you leave, you must promise me one thing. If you succeed, I'll let you go. But if you fail…"

He quietly turned toward the storehouse in the distance. "None of your families will survive. Sure, you can question my resolve now, and I'll give you a very simple response."

At his threat, every soldier who tried to resist bowed their heads, and Rex nodded in satisfaction. "Good."

"That's my son for you!" Cara exclaimed, her face glowing with pride at how her son pacified the guards' coup all by himself.

In the distance, Saul, who was barely standing, could see Rex sneering at him and could not stop feeling queasy right then.

"Brat…"

Saul had the feeling that despite Rex's youth, the boy would become his worst opponent.

On the other hand, Rex felt that his victory was in hand.

He was surprised himself that someone else would take down Saul, the one whom he believed would be the most troublesome.

He chuckled quietly as he glanced at Megan's half-collapsed mansion in the distance.

After all, his cousin was such an idiot! All he had to do was say a couple of words to make her uncomfortable, and she ran straight at Frank to challenge him.

After all, he had already thought of a plan—all he needed now was the governor as his audience!

While Tim and Eric led the coup, Frank was not even bothered to listen to what they had to say, let alone intervene.

He leapt upstairs through the broken mansion and into Megan's half-demolished room.

He did not hold out much hope as he walked up to Megan's bed, since Saul was bragging about injecting her with some kind of poison.

It was clearly no joke, so Megan was most likely a corpse by now, beyond saving even if there was some miracle.
