The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 1542

Gene remained silent for a while but eventually slammed his hand on the table again.

"Fuck, I won't take this lying down! Call Frank again—I'm getting involved too!"

-

A day later, at a basement bar in South Morhen, Chet and Noel—who was disguising herself with a face mask and a cap—arrived at the meeting point chosen by Sil.

They strode down the corridor, past the crowd dancing to a thumping tune, and found Sil smoking a cigarette at a booth seat.

Sil's eyes lit up when he saw that Noel was really there and unwittingly dropped the cigarette on the floor.

"Shit, that's the top actress of Draconia for you!"

He could not help comparing her to Rory Thames, but they were in completely different classes!

Rory was the top singer of Draconia and had the looks, but she was more than a class beneath Noel, a goddess of the silver screen.

Her pure, noble presence alone far eclipsed Rory's—even though her body figure was unbelievably tempting, the face when she took off her mask was angelically innocent.

The gap almost certainly stirred Sil's juices…

Still, seeing that Sil was freezing up, Chet hurried toward them and introduced, "Mr. Lionheart, this is Ms. York."

"Oh… Right."

Sil came to his senses then and quickly shook Noel's hand, feeling her fair skin and breathing in her fragrance.

Just then, a woman wearing a flamboyant red gown strode over, sneering at Noel in contempt.

"Rory Thames?! What are you doing here?!" Noel exclaimed, once again putting her flawless acting skills to use.

No one would be able to tell at all that Noel was pretending to look shocked, and Chet was scowling nearby.

He sighed inwardly—one really expected nothing less of Draconia's top actress, and even he was endlessly impressed.

To no surprise, Rory never saw through Noel.

She smirked as she strode up, lifting Noel's chin with a finger and giggling. "Noel York, did you know that when you signed the agreement to join Lionheart Entertainment, you also became my subordinate?"
