"What am I doing?" Frank glanced at Wilk, actually feeling puzzled.
"Didn't I tell you already? I'm buying back Lauren Floss' kidney for 500 grand."
As he spoke, he pressed Patek on the floor, while drawing a long silver needle from the cloth satchel he always carried around.
Seeing Frank's calm stare and feeling the sharpness of his needle, Patek was struggling in terror and screamed, "D-Dad!!! Help me!!!"
Wilk was petrified—Frank was really going to take away his son's kidney?!
"Y-You animal! Let go of my son!" he bellowed.
In contrast to Wilk's fury, his wife was utterly horrified.
"Please stop!!!" she begged. "Kill me if you want to! Please don't hurt my son!"
Her boy was everything to him, and she could not live if anything happened to him. In fact, she even stopped cursing Frank, and withstood the pain in her kneecaps as she kowtowed to Frank repeatedly.
"Mom!!! Dad!!! Help!!!"
Patek was still screaming even as she watched the needle close in. He was trembling all over in fear while at once wetting and soiling his pants, a far cry from the brat who had bullied his own sister earlier.
Even Kali was horrified, and she pleaded, "K-Kat, please! Talk to your mentor… He can't do this!"
Kat, however, said nothing.
In her eyes, everything her mentor was doing right now was the right thing to do and worthy of her respect.
"Please, don't kill my son! I'm begging you…" Mrs. Sturgeon was still begging miserably as well. "He's our hope! Please! Don't kill him!"
"How much do you want?! Just say it! We'll pay you!"
"You can have anything you want too! Just tell us, and we'll give it to you!"
As the Sturgeons both looked on, Frank suddenly paused.
Convinced that Frank was being swayed, Wilk promptly pressed, "You want money, right? Here, I'll give you five million…. No, you can have fifty million! How about that?! That's all the money I have!"
Frank looked between him and his wife and sneered. "I think there's a misunderstanding here—I've already said it twice, but I'll say it a third time just so we're clear: I'm buying back Lauren Floss' kidney for 500 grand, and I won't kill your son. Get it? I just want that kidney."
