"That's right!"
Kat nodded repeatedly, putting both hands on the woman's car door as she frowned. "You're Kali Sturgeon, right? I heard Lauren fell sick—what's wrong? Is it serious?"
"He…"
Kali trailed off, her expression hesitant.
Hesitating for a while, he squeezed a smile and said, "He's fine. It's just a cold that's keeping him bedridden and unable to see anyone."
"I see…"
Kat appeared disappointed and pressed, "Well, when will he recover?"
"When…"
Kali stammered, when Frank strode up.
He picked up the pack of medicine she kept beside her seat, exposing her lies right then, "These Draconian traditional medicines are supplements that reinvigorate and stimulate red blood cell production. Hardly cold medicine."
"What?!"
The woman paled when she realized that Frank was a specialist and promptly threw up her hands defensively. "No, please… These are for me, I'm getting sick, so—"
"You don't have to explain yourself."
Frank said quietly, leaning against the car door. "I overhead the mother and son in the black Benz that returned into the mansion earlier. They were talking about throwing out a bedridden patient from this mansion… could that be under your orders?"
"Then lead the way!" Kat urged, sensing something foreboding from Kali's words alone.
With that, the three of them drove to the garage and took an elevator to the mansion drawing room.
They just did not expect that the rest of the Sturgeons were watching Kali too.
As soon as Kat and Frank set foot in the drawing room, a middle-aged woman with a mole on top of her lips intercepted them.
She was dressed like a maid, her expression exceedingly pompous.
"Who let you in here?!" she bellowed as she pointed at the door. "Visitors are not welcome here. Get out!"
Kat recognized her immediately—she was the pompous maid who was snapping at her over the intercom earlier!
