"What?!"
It was a sight that left all the other martial artists astonished.
After all, Kain Loom the Wild Blade was the best among them, reaching the middle of Ascendant rank and almost peerless.
However, he was still no different from a chick to the military man, and the sheer difference left everyone agape.
"From now on, you are all under my command… Naturally, those who have something to say about it can come forward."
The military man smirked at the martial artists as he breathed out a smoke ring.
Obviously, the martial artists present were not spineless, with an elderly man already glowering as he strode out.
"We're under your command? Who do you think you are?" he demanded.
"Exactly!" A youth who clearly belonged to a sect joined in. "You're strong, but don't you think you're overreaching, telling everyone to serve you?!"
The military man simply smiled at them before whipping out a handgun and shooting the old man between the eyes.
The bullet whistled through the air, catching the man off guard and punching a hole between his brows.
He wobbled before dropping to the floor, dead.
"Uncle!"
The youth who snapped earlier did a double take before lunging at the military man.
The other martial artists could certainly see that the military man was powerful, but they all charged at him with a battlecry after they saw what had happened.
All the martial artists present were invited by the Turnbulls' main family and branch families, and it was already clear from a single look that the casualties here were terrible.
Would their respective sects and organizations let it slide if they find out?
And the blame would be on the Turnbulls!
But what infuriated Glen even more was his own son Rob—not only was he kneeling to Jan, but his men were scouring the ballroom, shooting dead every martial artist Jan did not kill on the spot.
Eventually, almost no martial artists survived the slaughter, save for Proud Sword Sect and Kain Loom, sitting in a corner and clutching his chest.
Glen almost blacked out, as he realized right then that Rob was now Jan's lapdog.
And Jan had come to wipe out all the martial artists invited, in his son's name.
