The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 1413

Seeing that Lydia was panicking, Winter assured her, "You don't have to worry about the cost."

Then, turning toward Claude, she continued, "The one who hurt the patient will pay, along with additional damages."

Claude's smirk stiffened, and he soon scowled hostilely. "You brat! Are you saying I'll be paying?!"

"Are you refusing?" Winter shot back coolly and bluntly.

"Hehe… Don't you think you're pushing your luck, kiddo?"

Claude was really angered as Winter was not listening at all, leaving him embarrassed.

Forget Lydia—even his bodyguards were here, and he had never embarrassed himself like this before!

That was when Winter continued impassively, "Trust me, you'll be on your knees, begging me to let you pay."

Claude was taken aback. He flew into a rage as he hollered, "What, just because you asked?! Dream on! Go get her right now, boys—me, going down on my knees?! I'll show her!"

At Claude's orders, the bodyguards' eyes flashed dangerously as they charged at Winter.

"Mona!" Winter snapped.

"Coming!" A lively voice suddenly resounded from a corner of the ward, as Mona Fairfax—wearing a suit and shades—was suddenly in front of Winter.

"Huh?!"

Claude was clearly surprised to see Mona, as she visibly emerged from the shadows of the ICU ward… but when did she get there?

However…

Bang!

There was a loud crash, and Claude's smile stiffened as one of his bodyguards was sent flying back at him like a missile. He crashed into a pile of equipment, which erupted in a burst of sparks.

The other bodyguards were left staring blankly as their colleague lay among damaged circuits, his eyes rolling up in their sockets as he spasmed endlessly.

Mona did not let up, however.

With a battlecry, she pressed her attack, though she did so fairly by kicking each of the bodyguards once.
