The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 1396

Frank could not help sighing as he watched Mona—did she really have the potential to succeed at geomantics?

"Oh, it's killing me. Those two geezers are so despicable! I swear I will dig them out of their graves after they die and dump their corpses down the drain…"

Even Frank and a hangry Mona left the rundown temple, they saw that the two geezers had left in the car Frank brought.

While Mona was stamping her feet and cursing out loud, Frank sighed exasperatedly and had to walk with her to Zamri.

The journey took them half a day, and by the time they reached a dealership, the journey left them filthy from head to toe.

Meanwhile, in said dealership, a middle-aged man was seated in a sandblasted glass room, pointing at a sales girl's face as he bellowed, "Your sales figures are in the red again, Lydia Kinley! Quit playing chaste maiden, or you can leave! I don't want you here ever again!"

Lydia in turn complained miserably, "I don't get it, Mr. Swain! Why do I have to prostitute myself just to sell cars?!"

"Hehe…"

A woman wearing thick makeup sitting on a nearby couch and appearing busy painting her nails giggled coolly.

"Some people really overestimate their worth," she quipped. "Claude Dresden had his eyes on that car earlier, and all she had to do was smile and spend the night with him, and that's several hundred grand in the bag. But what did she do? She slapped and snapped at him, and poof went the biggest sale we could have had this month. Tut, tut…"

Jane Liston was clearly jealous and also throwing fuel to fire.

"Really? That actually happened?"

While Bode was caught by surprise, Jane's eyes lit up and hurried outside. "Oh, and I wondered whose regal voice it would be. So it's you, Mr. Dresden!"

It was the most apparent flattery, but Claude appeared oblivious, catching Lydia by the wrist and chuckling. "Come on. Tell me, Lydia—who bullied you? I'll punish them."

"Please just let me go. I've made up my mind… I'm resigning," Lydia pleaded even as she struggled to free herself from Claude's grip.

"Really?"

Claude glowered right then. "What, do you think I don't deserve you? Are you spurning my kindness, Lydia?"

"Oh, that's not it, Mr. Dresden!" Bode hurried up to them to calm things down.
