After fidgeting restlessly for a while, Helen finally looked up at Frank, her cheeks flushed as she stammered, "D-Darling… I want what Vicky had, too…"
"Hahaha! I knew it!"
Vicky exclaimed as she suddenly appeared behind Helen, grinning gleefully as she folded her arms before her chest. "Just spit it out already. Don't you feel embarrassed, fidgeting about at your age, Ms. Lane?"
"You stay out of this!" Helen wheeled on Vicky and snapped.
When Helen turned, she saw that Frank was in front of her, leaning down to give her a warm kiss on the forehead.
As she reached up blankly to touch her forehead, she looked up to see Frank's smile.
Flushing in embarrassment, she turned and left, snorting. "Alright, that's enough already! It's time for dinner!"
Even as she chased a giggling Vicky inside, Vicky turned to look at Frank. "Come home soon."
"Yeah." Frank nodded, smiling.
Later, even as Helen picked up a bowl on the table, she stared blankly at the dishes around the table as she heard a car engine igniting outside.
"Should I be more… proactive next time?'

At Favoni House in Norsedam, one of the family's sentries rushed into a traditionally decorated courtyard, where a graying middle-aged man was meditating.
He was none other than Chet Favoni, the head of the Favoni family who progressed well into Ascendant rank.
Dropping to one knee, the Favoni sentry reported, "Sir, I don't think your son is going to make it."
Even as Chet slowly opened his eyes, his eyes flickering in indescribable pain, another Favoni sentry rushed inside.
He did not blame the Favoni sentries and waved them off too.
As they ran away as if saved, Edon bellowed at Chet accusingly, "What do you think you are doing, brother?!"
"What are you talking about?" Chet asked calmly, looking up.
"Quit playing senile with me!"
Edon growled as he planted himself opposite Chet. "I've heard all about it—Jaden was poisoned in a duel and carried back miserably, his fate unknown!"
"That's because he came up short," Chet replied, shaking his head.
Edon did a double take—he did not expect that from his own brother.
After all, Chet used to prioritize the family's reputation more than his whole life—when did he become such a coward?!
