The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 1235

"Is that so?"

The security guard appeared stunned and glanced at his partner, surprise showing on both men's eyes.

"I didn't think you'd be that competent for a mutt!"

Then, the security guard actually praised Peter. "Impressive! Just so you know, Mr. Jameson told us to kick your ass when the deadline arrived. You've really spared us the effort now."

"Hehe… Just doing my job." Peter nodded repeatedly in acceptance.

"Alright, you can go in now." The security guard then stepped aside and pointed at the golden elevator at the corner of the lobby.

"Thanks, brother… Thank you very much." Peter kept nodding and bowing humbly in gratitude.

"Who the fuck is your brother?" The security guard snorted, not playing along at all. "You're just a lapdog Mr. Jameson keeps around, and you're calling me your brother?"

"Oh, right. Sorry…" Peter kept nodding and smiling without an ounce of dignity.

Still, just as Frank was about to follow Peter inside, both security guards stopped him with each hand to his chest, growling coolly, "Who the hell do you think you are?!"

Frank was ready to snap because of the security guards' attitude, but Peter quickly stepped between them, smiling. "He's the buyer of that land lot which Mr. Jameson wants. He came to return it."

"Is that so?"

The security guard frowned and studied Frank from head to toe. "Who are you to him, son?"

"He's my brother-in-law," Peter answered before Frank could once more. "I tricked my mom into buying it, and she then tricked him into buying it."

"Over here. I know the way." He smiled apologetically as he urged Frank to leave.

Still, once the elevator doors closed, Peter scowled in silence, watching as the elevator indicator went up.

Eventually, he said, "I always thought you were trash, Frank, that you were living off my family… but now, I'm really nothing when compared to you. I'm worse than trash…"

Frank was actually at a loss of words as he watched Peter speak so humbly.

Then, after a long silence, Peter continued, "You asked to see Kit, but it's not to save me, right? I know that much… and even if I don't know the reason, he will make me pay for bringing you here."

Sighing, he said, "Still, I've made up my mind now. I will bring him down with me, just so that my life would mean something."

As the elevator reached its destination and jingled, Peter clenched his knuckles as he growled viciously under his breath, "At the very least, I will die a man, and not a dog."
