“How can this be?” both Willie and Tony’s faces were ashen at this realization.

Hope only set one up for disappointment. Just now, when that guard ambushed Leon, the two of them thought they could turn their fate around and defeat Leon, but the cruel face of reality was like a slap across

their faces.

At this moment, the hope that ignited within them dissipated!

“Master, you better run! That punk seems to have some sort of protective treasure on him. I couldn’t hurt him at all,” The guard muttered as he spat out another mouthful of blood. He put two and two together, and it did not take long for him to figure out what Leon had.

He was already at the Intermediate Overlord State, and yet Leon sustained barely a scratch when faced with his attack. There were only two possible explanations for this–one, that Leon’s true power level far surpassed the Overlord State and possibly even reached the Emperor State, or second, that Leon possessed some kind of protective armor on him that could easily shield him against attacks of all kind, even those

from the Intermediate Overlord State.

The guard was correct; Leon indeed had the Mirror of Sovereign with him as his shield, but on top of that, Leon’s sage arts were also at the Intermediate Foundation Phase, and anything at the Intermediate Overlord

State or less could not harm him even an inch!

He spat out a mouthful of blood as his body landed on the ground in a crumpled heap. This took out almost every last ounce of energy within him, and he did not even have the strength to sit up.

“Your turn, Willie!” Leon scoffed as he started walking in Willie’s direction.

The truth was, he and Leon were both in the Semi Overlord state, and even if he could not defeat Leon, he still stood a chance of escaping if he were in his usual state.
