The Enchanting Doctor With a Bite novel Chapter 89

Inside the storage room, the housekeeper took out her phone, snapped a photo of the prescription, and sent it to someone via WhatsApp.

She then deleted the chat history and the original image without hesitation.

After that, she headed back to her room, which was just three doors down on the right side of the storage area.

It wasn't until half an hour later that she finally went to retrieve the herbs.

...

As soon as Kylie finished handling things at the Vance residence, she rushed straight back to Holdlast Hospital without wasting a second.

Sebastian was the hospital director, but Samuel also held shares in it—it was practically a family-run operation.

Vincent had dedicated caregivers and private physicians watching over him round the clock. Kylie was only responsible for writing prescriptions. The rest—gathering the herbs and brewing them—was left to a professional medical team.

Logan drove Kylie to the hospital.

The moment the car stopped, she pushed open the door and headed toward the inpatient building.

She had only taken a couple of steps when Logan called after her, "Ms. Clark, wait a second."

Kylie paused and turned back. "What is it?"

Logan hesitated for a moment before saying, "You don't really believe that Mr. Vance went to Starlight Summit just to catch you cheating, do you?"

"Does it even matter anymore?" she flatly said.

"It does matter," Logan answered. "If there's a misunderstanding, it should be cleared up and not dragged out into a dead end. No matter what you decide, you still deserve to know the truth."

Kylie narrowed her eyes and studied him. "Alright, go on."

Logan exhaled and said, "That night, Mr. Vance drank a spiked cocktail. Do you think a guy like him couldn't handle a drink? Worst-case scenario, cold shower, and it's done. But he ran into Ms. Dale, and she threw herself at him."

Kylie let out a cold laugh.

Iris had always been like that. This wasn't breaking news.

Kylie wasn't the type to bite the hand that fed her. Logan might've been Samuel's assistant, but his advice wasn't wrong.

This world wasn't fair. It never had been.

Survival belonged to the strong, and Samuel was sitting comfortably at the top of the food chain.

People like her couldn't afford to challenge that.

Kylie thought for a moment and nodded. "I understand. Thanks, Logan."

Logan gave her a small smile. "No need to thank me. It's my job."

After all, if Samuel was winning in love, the rest of them could breathe a little easier too.

After that, Logan drove back to the Vance residence to pick Samuel up.

The second Samuel got in the car, he leaned back in the seat with irritation written all over his face. He asked, "Is she at the hospital?"
