Samuel's eyes darkened as he stared at the tableware across from him. So, she wasn't as soft and submissive as she appeared. She had a temper, too.

He wondered how much of her statement was true.

While Kylie was eating earlier, she mentioned working on a research paper for the Traditional and Modern Medicine Conference. The conference, held every four years, was one of the most prestigious in the medical field, attracting the world's top medical experts.

Many groundbreaking research findings and clinical trial results were presented at the event. Hence, only the best from the medical field were invited. Since she was attending, it signified her medical skills were indeed exceptional.

It wasn't hard for him to verify whether her claims that scars couldn't be removed but only fade with treatment were true or false.

Samuel picked up his phone and called Logan.

At this moment, Logan was sleeping soundly but was rudely awakened by his ringing phone. Just as he was about to lose his temper, he saw Samuel's name flashing on the screen. In an instant, all his frustration deflated.

He immediately picked up the call and responded in a respectful tone, "Hello, Mr. Vance."

"Bring me the invitation to the Traditional and Modern Medicine Conference tomorrow."

"What?" Logan was stunned. He had asked Samuel earlier whether he wanted to go, but Samuel had flatly declined. So, what was with the sudden interest in the middle of the night?

Despite his curiosity, he refrained from asking any additional questions. "Understood, Mr. Vance."

Meanwhile, Iris left Zouk Lounge and returned to the Dale residence. Adrian and Euphemia were ready to sleep when they heard the sound of a car engine outside. The couple exchanged a shocked look.

A few seconds later, Adrian asked, "Do you think it's Iris?"

Euphemia frowned and immediately got out of bed to head downstairs. When she saw Iris, her expression darkened further.

"At the very least, it proves he likes women and not men. Once you marry him, you won't have to worry about an unfulfilling marriage life." As she spoke, Euphemia picked up a business card from the coffee table and handed it to Iris.

"What's this?"

"I've already arranged everything with the hospital. Have your membrane fixed as soon as possible. Next time, seize the opportunity and make him yours once and for all."

Iris tucked the business card into her bag. She wondered why Samuel was suddenly interested in the scar. Could Kylie have done something?

Iris gritted her teeth at the thought of that wretched bumpkin. She couldn't believe that Kylie had managed to survive after falling into the pool.
