"I missed you, so I wanted to see you. Don't you want to see me?"
Samuel wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her into his embrace. His deep voice sent ripples through Iris' heart.
"Of course, I want to see you!" Iris felt herself drowning in his strong masculine presence. She leaned into his arms, and a faint blush crept up her cheeks.
Her fingertips traced delicate, teasing lines on his chest while she pouted playfully. "Samuel, this is the first time you've ever said such sweet words to me."
"Do you like it?" He lowered his gaze to her.
His deep voice had a magnetic draw, and the light upward lilt at the end made it irresistibly appealing. Despite that, the smile never reached his eyes.
"I do." She didn't notice anything unusual as his charm completely intoxicated her. She had been avoiding Scott recently and suppressing her urges. Now that Samuel had taken the initiative, she could hardly wait.
She lifted herself onto her toes and tried to kiss his jaw. But the next second, he dodged her lips and looked down at her from above.
Iris blinked, her eyes shimmering. "Samuel…"
This was the first time in the past two years that he had shown affection toward her. She wasn't about to let this opportunity slip away.
Samuel felt her pushing against him. His voice deepened, husky with a rough edge. "Do you want to?"
Iris maintained her delicate act.
"But… here…"
She looked hesitant, yet she was reluctant to let such a good chance pass her by. After a moment of feigned resistance, she said, "If you want to, I'll go along with it. After all, I've always been yours in my heart."
Instead of replying, he responded with actions. His fingers trailed to the zipper at the back of her dress, slowly pulling it down. His fingertips brushed against her skin, igniting a fire that could spread uncontrollably.
The zipper reached halfway and then abruptly stopped. Iris froze and instantly sobered up.
As Iris spoke, her mind worked fast. "Why did you suddenly ask about my scar? Did my sister say something?"
"She knew about it?" His expression darkened.
"Before the Vance family took her in, we were best friends who shared everything. She knows all about us."
She stole a cautious glance at him and saw that his handsome face was clouded with a faint trace of fury. She secretly rejoiced and breathed a sigh of relief.
She had almost slipped tonight. If he had actually gone through with it tonight, he would've discovered she wasn't a virgin.
Thankfully, she reacted in time. Not only did she escape disaster, but she also managed to put Kylie in trouble.
"Kylie, you dare to fight me? You're finished!" Iris thought to herself.
