"Ahhh!" Kylie was utterly frustrated. "Why are zippers designed on the back? It's so inconvenient!"
She tried to pull it up from behind, but halfway through, she realized she couldn't reach it! This design was completely inhumane. It was a hassle to do it alone, and there wasn't always someone around to help.
Just as she was about to call for a maid, she heard the straying, firm footsteps of a man approaching from behind. Through the mirror, she saw Samuel striding toward her. He was wearing a crisp white shirt and fitted black trousers that made him look sharp and commanding.
Kylie returned to her senses and hurriedly looked away from him as a faint blush crept up her cheeks. He was simply too devastatingly handsome! One look was enough to captivate the soul.
However, what she didn't realize was that from where Samuel stood, he had a clear view of her reflection in the mirror. Her fair skin made the palm-sized scar on her back particularly striking and jarring.
As his sharp gaze fell on it, Kylie's breath hitched in nervousness, and her mind went blank for a moment. She had completely forgotten about the mirror behind her.
From his angle, everything was in plain sight. His brows furrowed deeply, and his countenance turned frighteningly cold.
He strode forward and stopped right before her. His massive palm clamped on her delicate arm, forcing her to turn around and face him.
She felt her pulse racing. Just as she was ready to respond, his fingers traced the scar on her back. He had seen this scare before, but did he still remember it?
Then, he decided that it was definitely the latter. This was all part of her scheme! His gaze darkened instantly, and his expression grew colder.
Sensing the tense atmosphere around them, Kylie said cautiously, "I'll get a maid to help me with the zipper."
Samuel scoffed and continued, "You're quite smart to plan such small details. Didn't you want me to see it on purpose?"
Disgust flashed across his face as he yanked the zipper up roughly. The more he thought about it, the more he believed that her falling into the pool earlier was part of her scheme, too.
