The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1861

The elder was flipping through the contract, each page stirring up more turmoil inside him. He snapped it shut, leaning against the conference table, his fingers gripping tightly. He could barely believe what he was seeing.

They’d assigned Miss Mira the Ravenshade task, banking on the complex forces behind it, sure she wouldn’t seal the deal quickly. But to their shock, not only did she sign it, but she also added extra projects, practically gifting them to the Davis family.

The elder couldn't pinpoint where things went off track, but he sensed things slipping beyond their control. Next to him, Jaime noticed his troubled expression and grabbed the contract to have a look.

Just then, a commotion erupted at the council room door. The guild’s office director burst in, looking anxious.

The elder frowned, sharply reprimanding, "Get out! Can’t you see we're in the middle of a meeting?"

The director hesitated but stood his ground. "There are some important guests downstairs..."

"I don’t care who it is, we’re not seeing anyone now," the elder interrupted, his patience thin. One Grady was enough; he didn’t want any more surprises.
