"Grady."
The call was from none other than Grady himself.
On hearing his name, Nellie, who had been lost in thought gazing out the car window, instinctively snapped her attention back, her breath catching for a moment.
Mirabella, seemingly unaware of Nellie's subtle reaction, continued her conversation, "Yeah, my phone just died."
Grady, relieved on the other end, said, "Good to know everything's okay. By the way, Mira, when are you coming back?"
Mirabella did a quick mental calculation. "About two hours."
Tapping her fingers lightly on her knee, she paused for a moment before asking, "Uncle, is there something going on at the hospital?"
Grady had actually called about the heir evaluation, but noticing Mirabella's misunderstanding, he explained, "No, nothing's wrong at the hospital..."
Mirabella cut him off, her demeanor suddenly serious, "Has Chester's condition worsened?"
Grady was caught off guard. "What?"
Did he say something to imply that?
Before he could clarify, Mirabella's voice came through again, "Okay, I'll head back to the hospital as soon as I can. Uncle, wait for me."
"No, that's not..." Grady tried to explain, but she had already hung up.
Grady stood there, speechless.
"Can't I just say I’m not feeling well and need to rest at the hospital?" Jim replied sharply.
Grady sighed, "Whatever you say, sir."

In the car, after hanging up, Mirabella's 'anxiety' was written all over her face.
James, the driver, glanced in the rearview mirror, shifting gears to speed up, "Did something happen with Shawn?"
Mirabella turned her head towards the window, and after a long pause, she barely whispered a yes, her voice thick with tension.
Next to her, Nellie, who had been sitting quietly, was now visibly pale, unable to keep her composure. Her voice came out strained, "But Chester's condition had stabilized. How could it suddenly change?"
