The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1525

Zane watched Calvin quietly, his stance resolute. "If you're here about the patent issue, Mr. Calvin, then there's nothing to discuss. There's no way I'm giving up the patent."

Calvin glanced at Zane, "I didn't ask you to give up the patent."

Zane was momentarily taken aback; this didn't seem like Mr. Calvin's usual demeanor.

Calvin turned and walked over to a lounge chair nearby, resting his hand on the armrest. "I've already negotiated with Hank. He's agreed not to pursue the patent issue any further."

Hearing this, Zane instinctively furrowed his brow.

What does he mean by not pursuing it?

The system was clearly developed by his student. It sounded as if they were being accused of stealing the results.

Suppressing his discomfort, Zane asked, "And? There must be other conditions."

Calvin crossed his legs, leaning back lightly against the chair, and simply said, "You mentioned last time about organizing the plan for DO Group. Have you done that?"

Seeing Calvin abruptly switch the topic to DO Group, Zane immediately felt a bad premonition, "Not yet. Why do you ask?"

Calvin gestured to the chair next to him. "Don't be nervous. Sit down and we'll talk. I'm not going to hurt you."

Zane's fingers tensed at his side, and he didn't move to sit. "Just say what you want to say. There's no need to beat around the bush."

"I heard from Hank that DO Group's manager will be dealing directly with the Tech Institute from now on," Calvin said slowly.

Upon hearing this, it felt like a string in Zane's mind had snapped in an instant.

It took him a while to gather his thoughts. "Why would it change to dealing with the Tech Institute?"

To keep the patent, he would have to give up the DO Group collaboration. Otherwise, he would neither secure the patent nor the partnership.

Seeing Zane's silence, Calvin added, "DO Group working directly with the Tech Institute shouldn't cause you any loss. You'll continue to prepare your documents as usual and follow Hank's instructions. Don't be too stubborn; consider this a good deed."

Zane couldn't help but view Calvin's words as ironic. "Why should I?"

The patent was his student's work, and he was the one in contact with DO Group. Now, inexplicably, it was supposed to be handled by the Tech Institute...

What was even more ridiculous was that they were expected not only to have no objections but also to work for the Tech Institute.

Calvin didn't want to discuss these futile matters any further. Standing up, he said, "Alright, I've said what I needed to. Think it over. I've got other matters to attend to. I'm leaving."

Without waiting for Zane to respond, he walked out.
