Mirabella's eyebrows lifted slightly at the words, and with a quick affirmation, she ended the call.
Not long after, she stepped out of her department and immediately saw a sedan parked by the campus road.
At that moment, James, with his hands tucked into his coat pockets, was lazily leaning against the car door, idly spinning his phone. Upon seeing Mirabella, however, he straightened up.
"Isn't it risky for someone rumored to be ill to show up at school?" Mirabella approached, eyeing him with a light tsk.
James pocketed his phone and opened the passenger door, his smile ambiguous, "Need to earn a living, maybe find a wife."
Mirabella's cheeks twitched, and she silently bent down to get into the car.
James' lips curled into a smile, his cold, handsome face softening as he closed the door and quickly got into the car himself.
The car slowly drove out of Prestige College.
"By the way, Nikolai came looking for me again at noon today." Mirabella's fingers carelessly played with the hem of her clothing, tilting her head towards the driver, "He said that Presley from the Medicine Association has a remedy from the Stevenson family that could cure your secret ailment."
It took James a couple of seconds to respond with a puzzled, "Why didn't Nikolai come to me directly?"
"Presley wants the recipe I have," Mirabella shrugged, adding, "Probably the main reason your ailment flared up this time is this."
At a red light, James slowly pressed the brake, stopping the car, then said, "It's not just that."
The recipe was convenient, but it was likely more of a warning to him.
Seeing this, Mirabella didn't say anything more.
Soon, the car stopped outside a high-end restaurant, where a private dining room had been booked in advance. They were directly escorted by the restaurant manager to an exclusive room on the second floor.
After ordering, Wyatt arrived shortly, nodding to Mirabella in greeting before addressing James without reservation, "Presley is indeed backed by a significant party, a company called Pioneer Group."
"Pioneer Group?" James narrowed his eyes in thought, admitting he had never heard of the company, "What's their background?"
While handing over the documents he brought to James, Wyatt explained, "It's a headhunting firm from abroad, involved in all sorts of fields. However, it's very low-key within its industry, only known as 'an unremarkable small company'..."
As they continued their discussion, neither noticed Mirabella's expression briefly change at the mention of Pioneer Group.
