The Double or more Life of the Fake Heiress (Mirabella) novel Chapter 1366

Minutes after trying to resend the message, Mirabella still got the same notification—it didn’t go through. With a light tap on her phone, she decided not to bother sending any more messages. She wasn't too worried; Morgan might be straightforward, but he had a knack for staying out of trouble.

James, who was driving, glanced over at Mirabella, noticing she was lost in thought. “Still worried about Mr. Boyd’s health?” he asked, breaking the silence.

Mirabella snapped back to reality at the sound of his voice. Putting her phone away, she shook her head. “Everyone has their time,” she replied, a touch of resignation in her voice.

“We do what we can,” James said, his tone reassuring.

“Yeah.” Mirabella nodded, her eyes drifting to the scenery outside the car window. Suddenly, something crossed her mind. She took off the necklace she was wearing, “Didn’t you say you wanted to borrow this the other day?”

James glanced over, noting that she was looking much better. He reached out, took the necklace, and slipped it into his pocket. “I’ll give it back once I’m done.”

“Alright.” Mirabella replied simply, not questioning his need for the necklace.

James didn’t offer any explanation but asked, “Where to now?”

Mirabella checked the time on her watch. “Just take me to the hospital.”

James nodded, about to say something when his phone buzzed. It was Curtis calling. He picked up the Bluetooth headset, put it on, and answered the call. Curtis’s voice came through clearly.

“We’ve got news on Trevor.”

James’s expression shifted slightly. “Really? Where is he?”

Curtis mentioned a spot in the south, a remote mountain area. “The signal’s terrible. We only picked up a faint distress call, and now we’ve lost contact.”

James nodded, “Keep this under wraps. Don’t mention anything to Emily and Donald yet.”

“Got it,” Curtis and Wyatt both agreed.

Soon, they headed to the helipad and boarded the helicopter. James settled back against the seat, staring out the window deep in thought.

Wyatt handed him a bottle of water, “No need to worry, James. Trevor should be okay. Our team checked the area and didn’t find any danger.”

James shifted his gaze from the window, acknowledging with a nod.

“There’s something odd though. That place isn’t on any map. It’s marked as an undeveloped forest, and the helicopter might get lost,” Wyatt added, a hint of concern in his voice.
