Bella said “So if you intend to lay a hand on Justin, I won’t allow it. If you don’t care for him, I do. Even if I weren’t here...”
Bella looked at Mary’s tombstone with sadness in her eyes. “Don’t you feel bad for Aunt Mary? You just got into a fight right in front of her. You always act like you're the leader of the Salvador family and some kind of high-class person. Don’t you think your behavior right now is not classy?”
Her tone was casual, yet her words struck right at the heart.
Gregory narrowed his eyes, clenching his jaw so tight that it looked like it might break.
“Chairman Salvador, it seems today isn’t suitable for you to pay respects to Aunt Mary. We appreciate your kindness, and I’m sure Aunt Mary has seen and heard it too. Please leave.”
Bella slowly released her grip, and only then did Paul and the bodyguards breathe a sigh of relief.
Gregory’s expression turned stiff and pale, but he gritted his teeth and refused to give up. “I specially cleared my schedule today just to see her. I’ll just have a quick look and then go.”
“Don’t even think about it!”
Justin suddenly yanked Bella behind him, and the father and son found themselves at odds once more. “If it weren’t for your erratic behavior, always bringing Shannon into our home, letting that spiteful woman torment my mother without any boundaries, none of this would’ve happened! My mom wouldn’t be dead!”
“You...!” Gregory was so furious to the point where his vision blurred momentarily!
“The worst five years of her life weren’t when she was struggling with poverty, hunger, and illness... But it was the time she spent with you where you neglected her. It’s because of your leniency that she endured so much hardship and eventually passed away!”
“You’re talking nonsense!”
Gregory was trembling with rage, his whole body shaking. He took heavy breaths and said, “Mary’s death was because she suffered from depression! She was unable to bear the pain and chose suicide as a means to escape! It wasn’t my fault!”
The heiress of the Thompson family was truly amazing. She had President Salvador completely under her thumb.
“Shannon... What does Shannon have to do with Mary’s death? Justin, explain it to me clearly!”
Gregory glared at his son, but his curiosity was piqued by the hesitation in his son’s words.
Bella sensed that continuing this conversation could ruin their plans, so she decided to hastily lead Justin away from the graveyard.
Paul cautiously asked, “Chairman Salvador, should I get another bouquet of flowers for Madam Mary?”
“What did Justin mean just now?! Did he mean that Shannon killed Mary?!” Gregory grabbed Paul by the collar, his anger uncontrollable as he questioned, “Was he speaking out of frustration, or does he have evidence for saying that?! On what grounds did he make such a statement?!”
