Bella’s slender fingers curled tightly.

“I know you don’t trust me, but right now you have no other choice.” Grant stared at her, his brown pupils like an unfathomable abyss. “Besides, my target has never been Chairman Thompson. Hurting him means nothing to me. Moreover, Chairman Thompson is your father. For your sake, I want him to get better too.”

Bella thought to herself, ‘Yeah right, as if I’d believe that!’

She had no desire to speak with this man any further. His sanctimonious hypocrisy made every moment in his presence suffocating and nauseating.
